Phil Winks
Bill is there a model name or number on the ESC?
Bill_B
I can't even see the thing Phil, it's buried so deep in the fuselage. I guess it's just a standard cheap 'n cheerful Chinese 20A ESC.
Phil Winks
Have you seen this **LINK**
Bill_B
Cheers Phil, I'll give that a go tomorrow.
Bill_B
I eventually managed to set the brake Phil, but there seems to be a vital piece of info missing off the instructions. This is how I did it: Set the throttle to max, plug up the flight battery, wait for the beeps to finish, set the throttle to about 10% from minimum (not fully back), wait for a confirmation beep, immediately open the throttle to max and disconnect the flight battery. This then stores the setting. The reason I like to set the brake is because during an extended power off dive, or spin, the motor never actually stops rotating and the free fall speed winds up the prop and when power is then needed to recover the ESC can't cope and stalls. Back EMF? I find that I have to close and open the throttle again before normal service is resumed, which can cause an impromtu trouser moment when tumbling towards terra firma at speed! Thanks again Phil.
Phil Winks
No worries Bill sometimes things do get lost in the translation with those maualls though HK are getting better as they actually employ a European/ american to write them now common sense really
Chris Barlow
Finally got around to processing some video my wife Vicky shot of the mass launch Radjets. She still needs some training in following the planes & not filming mens asses!
Andy Muckley
Nice job Chris or should i say nice job Vicky, we'll do it again at Greenacres / rcm&e fly in and there should be a few moore to contend with, what fun it was
Bill_B
Is it combat, or a pylon race? Seriously though, there could be a small prize for the most rotations (without crashing), of the infamous 'death spiral'.
Andy Muckley
Hi Bill it will probably be a general, free for all, i think figure of eight's would be good turning away from the flight line for safety reasons as there would be a need for quick reactions and the odd mid air just to add some excitement , we could always sort something on the week end as it doesn't take long to organize mayhem
