Henri Squier
Hi every one, Would this be the beginning of an epilogue ? The lady's dress completed - At last the flight report. Please sorry, no air picture or video (I was alone), just some statics at the field : I love this plane. I love this plane so much. Final AUW is … 1700 gr (Urghl !!! ….). I was too stressed during the very first maiden to really notice the fight characteristics. Today, I manage to make two short flights. And ... … And in fact, despite the weight, it flies pretty well ! I did not really feel unpleasant under power. Level flight was achievable at +/- 50% throttle. The only sign of overweight was the tendency to drop into the turns. At 1100 - 1300 gr as announced by Mr Nijhuis is must really be a dream. Roundels from underneath, front and side low passes are just … Waouh ! Last information before render thanks to Mr Nijhuis and all of you : During the first flight CG was at 75 mm from LE and second at 70 mm : At this (elephant) wing loading I do NOT recommend to place the CG behind 70 mm. All of this was a real pleasure, thank you. henri

Henri Squier
Hi again, let's say it's a post-scriptum. Real life : Last flight I manage ALL my landings, I was so proud. And now I intended to film them : NONE !!! I was so upset I tried and tried again and it was getting worth each time so I decided to stop. Last (on the video - there were lots more of bad landings after !!!) was due to right gear who refused to go down. Surprisingly the Spit is ok, only the wing tips are very angry against me. Thanks to all, this post, your nice comments, replies and support were a real pleasure. Henri.
Shane Sunday
Hello Henri. I am about to partake on this same model for the second time. This one will be assited by my CNC machine and also made from depron. I wanted to make a comment because my partners father served in the same squadron as the fellow you've paid tribute to in this build. I will also be paying tribute to him with this build. His father was french and mother British He was a young man at the invasion of Fance and they had to flee back to England otherwise she would have been taken. I'm sorry his name was George Cristinacce. He obviously wanted to join up as an infantryman and because he was bilingual they requested he become a pilot. Well I've yet to go through all of your thread but I promise I will. I just thought I'd post this before I forget. BTW Nina noticed the book on your first page immediately. mightypeesh
Good to see her in the air Henri, looks great! You are making your life hard though flying off of a strip that narrow! Cheers, Simon
