Hi all,

quick question..doing a bit of a retro build and going to cover it in tissue..haven't used this stuff for about 35 years.i remember as a kid I used to stick the tissue to the balsa with a white paste..it came in a pink tube. I can't seem to find it at my local shop but I notice on utube that some are using pricstick.

Does anyone know if this is good?

Hi PE2

Sand the airframe meticulously, then give it a couple of coats of cellulose dope. Wet the tissue, squeeze out excess moisture. Glue it to the structure by brushing cellulose thinners through the tissue. When it dries, the tissue should shrink to a zippity doo dah finish. There are two sides to tissue, The smooth one should be exposed

Finally, several coats of dope should give a top class finish

If you do a search of the various forums and Utube you'll find a 'how to' on covering with mylar then putting tissue on top. This gives a puncture proof finish that has the look of tissue covering with little additional weight.
