ChrisB
Fly-in's seem more common these days and the days of show bargains are, for understandable reasons not really around any more. Have some shows or types of shows coming to the end of their days? Weston is usually heaving as is Wings and wheels but have other shows reached or reaching the end of the road? Josip Vrandecic -Mes
When near of me (my city) and that's one or twice a year....I know, but high prices dictated our lives Jo
John Privett
Hmmm... I'm not sure how to vote! I generally go to 3 shows a year, so not sure if should say "Between 1 & 3" or "Between 3 & 5". Both are accurate! Fortunately I don't travel to overseas shows, or prefer fly-ins - otherwise I'd be trying to click 3 or 4 radio buttons simultaneously! [EDIT] I've opted for "Between 1 & 3" For the record that's Blackbushe, Wings 'n' Wheels, and either the Nats or the Southern Model Show Edited By John Privett on 27/08/2015 21:12:

Brian Cooper
From a pilot's point of view, I prefer Fly-Ins because you gat a lot more flying done in the day. Also, I have never managed to get my head around how retailers can offer "bargains" at shows. . . They have to strip their shops of stock and put it into a large van (which they probably have to hire) plus the cost of the fuel. . They have to hire their pitch at the show. . They need to acquire a huge marquee (not cheap) .. They have to accommodate any staff they take with them, and keep them fed and watered. . They are losing sales at their shop because most of the sellable stock is at the show. . If the weather is bad at the show, they will lose trade. . .They lose a day's trade before and after the show when loading and unloading their van and getting back to normal . . The overheads are massive before they even sell one servo. . . and yet they are expected to offer bargains. It's fiscal madness. B.C. Keith Simmons
Been to wings & wheels, Sandown and Hop farm. Sadly two appears to have gone I expect that there are bargains because of increased trade & you want to attract customers to spend their hard earned cash. I know it's a fine line.
