Blade CX2

Just read flanker, given your comments can understand your frustration, can only say that the interest for me is in flying, not building, I'm not a modeller, just keen to run a heli, and any info that helps steer me in the direction of enjoying flying will be welcomed by me!

Seems that there does seem to be somewhat of a division within this areana, but will check out the mag, but for me, the this sort of forum is as good a place to start to get info from.

My main pursuit is cycling and that is expensive enough alone, so anything that helps me progress my heli journey, with out causing too much questioning from the bride has to be welcomed!

Just like to share with you all, I bought the carbon fibre boom and skids for my Blade CX2 from the link below on ebay. It came from the states and arrived within a week. I fitted it fine and noticed in flight that I had less movement from the tail as there was less surface area. The skids are excellent as I have had a few heavy landings and they haven't broke! Not like the E-flight ones where I have been though 2 pairs due to heavy landings.

I hope this helps anyone who is look at modding there Blade CX? Happy flying.

I might be thinking the same as any other Blade CX flyer. But I am getting fed up with the flying bars cause vibration thought the helicopter due to a slight bend in the bar. Does anyone else know of any alternative to the standard E-flight flying bars? Are paddles better and if so, where can you buy them from and which helicopter did it come of?

 Any help will do?

 Regards

Si

The next step....?

As some of you will know I do fly a Blade CX2 and I love it. However, I feel the time is ready for me to move on to a big helicopter. I was just wondering if anyother Blade owners have moved on and on to what next? Don't get me wrong, I am not looking to get rid of my Blade. In fact I am looking at buying another one fo ebay to use.

I like E-flight helicopters and the parts are so easy to get hold off via ebay and SMC so I would like to stick with them. I was looking at the Blade 400 3D on the internet and was wondering if anyone owed one, what do they think about it?

 Can anyone help....?

Hi Martin.

You can now get a bell ranger fuselage for the blade. However, surf ebay and I did once see a fuselage of the 80's helicopter Blue Thunder which someone created by himself. I did bid for it but was out bidded. I do check out ebay alot for any spares and other goodies for the blade.

Will let you know if I found any different fuselages.

 Regards

Si

Not flown yet still in the box, training U/C and spare blades at the ready  .

Had a go with a similar model on my G-3.5 flight sim, able to fly it okay.

The other more conventional helicopters on the sim are another matter, very difficult to master.

Putting together the Ki 61Hien.  Will charge the Blade  up and have a go when I have the time.

Well I re-trimmed mine to day in the garage and adjust the servo arms. Then when the wind dropped down I had it in the garden. I got a few spare batteries so it gives me more time in the air when it's nice. Started praticeing skid landings on the path. Just thinking about put a undercarrage with wheels for rolling take offs and landings. I see on you tube there are some people who have done that.

There is two videos on you tube of myself flying my Blade on new years day. Just sreach for Blade CX2 new years day flight.

One good mod to get is to remove the rear fuselage and replace with a carbon boom. Also you can get different skids which do not break like the E-flight ones when you have a heavy landing. I sreach ebay and found them on there. It came from the state but was worth the wait. I try to up load a picture for you to see.

Lots of fun so far, bit of cross over from fixed wing, sometimes I think I am flying fixed wing, caused my first rotor blade loss, both upper one lower.

Training U/C saves a lot of damage, waiting for the weather to calm down (flown outside once so far),lots more room outside.

Need a spare lipo or two. .

hi guys ive had my cx2 for about a month great little heli  ive upgaded the batt. and moved the servo arms out one hole bit twitchier but more fun. like most others only broken a few blades. ive also now got Blade 400 compared to the cx its like jumping off a cliff gonna take some serious practice. though its well made and seems robust though it doesnt take much to chip the wooden blades so ive got some carbon fibre ones on the way.

Hi Kevin.

You sound like you are going down the same road as me but as I found to my cost the carbon blades are good and strong, but in stead of chiping they take out other parts that are more costly so what I have fund is to stick with the wooden blades but cover them in parcil tape the thin plastic selotape type stuf, and this stops them chiping, and makes them lest lots longer will you are learning.

good luck Owen.
