winchweight
As it says. Most of my club mate throw like girls, so I need a takeoff dolly for my leccy models. So what do you use? Pics appreciated.

Lee Burke
You can tell this is a male-only environment or there really would be some flame thrown around on this one!A chap at my club flies his two-metre glider off our tarmac strip on a dolly he constructed from angled aluminium. It runs on four rubber wheels that may be large model wheels, I didn't take a lot of notice of it when I saw it. If it appears again I'll try to get a photo. It seemed to track perfectly well down the strip and was then recovered by another member.

David Ashby - Moderator
How's this for the most useless dolly ever - came in an EDF kit recently.....the wheels are a bit....how would you say...small, take-offs could be interesting.
winchweight
Hmmm... not really man enough for the job, although the design is probably sound.Tim, I'll have a look.

Tim Mackey
Designed I guess for tarmac runways - still the general design and principle is good, cheap and cheerful and light - could always scale up a bit and fit proper wheels!
winchweight
You're a gent, cheers Kelvin. Tim, we are lucky enough to fly off concrete and tarmac and recover on grass, so no dramas there.

Kelly
Yes seems quite a robust bit of kit, the Spit soon flys off the dolly. May have a go at making one for my Me109, I am u/s at hand launching .
