Den Moran
Hi! Does anyone know where I can buy 0.3" thick aliminium, please? I've watched Andrew Newman's foamcutting series, and he uses the window flashing that is common in Australia. Our buildingsupplies don't seem to use it, preferring the heavier lead flashing? Thanks, Den
cymaz
Litho plate from a printing firm is ideal. If you can find a lithographic printers and ask nicely they may have some old scrap sheet....failing that eBay. The LMA had a video somewhere on how to use litho plate, can't find it anywhere.... Den Moran
Thanks! I've tried to order some with Mick Reeves, but the system is an old one using Outlook, and I cannot access it. I've sent an e-mail asking what next.
Andy Green
Would 0.2mm be any good, I used this on my 1/4 scale DB Pup. Andy
Frank Skilbeck
0.3 inch is approx 8mm thick, so not very thin, much, much thicker than litho plate. Do a search on Ebay lots available like here
Andy Green
Good point Frank. I was reading it as thou - as was everyone else I think. A
Peter Miller
I can't help feeling that when he asked for "Thin Aluminium sheet" he got the figure wrong.0.3" is not thin in modelling terms.
Den Moran
Thanks, everyone - I should have made it clearer -3 mm thickness is what I was after. Mick Reeves Models have got back to me in the interim, so I'll be ordering the 'Metalplate' from them. Thanks once again, brilliant support as usual on this site! Phil Francis
Do a search for metal supermarket, there may be one near you. They will cut any size you need.
