CARPERFECT
Need some new wing bolts for the Acro wot. Anyone know what size they are. and they are not 6mm.
Richard Wills 2
If it is the ARTF. They are imperial 1/4-20. Model fixings do some good ones.

Jonathan M
On the other hand - if its the ARTF - then you'll find the captive nuts are very shallow (i.e. very little thread) and poorly-made (the nylon bolts supplied with my Acro Wot just spun when they were even lightly tightened and then vibrated loose when the model was still on the ground!). Is an easy and quick mod to carefully tap the crap ones out and fit decent 6mm ones with longer necks in their place. **LINK**
Denis Watkins
These threaded rivets are really good replacements, available in all metric sizes from the auction site, and bonded into the hole with epoxy
kc
Richard said "They are imperial 1/4-20. " and Imperial means Whitworth or BSF. However an ARTF is surely more likely to have American threads such as UNC which also has a 1/4 by 20 size but it's not the same thread as Whitworth! UNC and UNF have a 60 degree angle of thread while Whitworth and BSF have 55 degrees, so they are not interchangeable but a nylon bolt might work OK.. kc
Threaded insert nuts can also be obtained from Screwfix and they are threaded into the wood ( unlike those shown by Denis which are splined) using an allen key. M6 cost £2.35 for 50. They also do T nuts at £1.49 for 10. Toolstation sell M6 T nuts at £1.13 for 10. CARPERFECT
I lost a nylon bold from my Seagull Cessna 337. and have borrowed the bolts from my Acro Wot. So the are from an ARTF. and they are 1/4 unf
John Davies 4
The splined type shown by Dennis are for inserting with a pop rivet gun , and the slines are to stop them rotating in the host material , usually sheet metal too thin to tap. kc
Carperfect- did you really mean UNF ? I would have thought it was UNC as that is 1/4 by 20 ( UNF is 1/4 by 28 )
