Caveman
Hi Merco, if you don't get a definitive reply then the info you require can be taken from this plan **LINK** GDB
Robert Putley 1
HI Marco, I too have a flair Astro Hogg. Much better than the American kit which deviates in several areas from the original. Regretfully, I no longer have the plans. You may already have a motor designated for your model. If not you could do no better than fitting a Laser 80. Makes for a superb combination. With regard to performance, more than enough. Bon chance.
Frank Skilbeck
The tailplane span (tailspan?) is 28" you should be able to scale the rest of the dimensions from the plan in the link from GDB. Lovely fliers, mines got an Irvine 53 in it, a Merco 49/61 would be a good option.
Merco 61
Thanks a lot for your help.Should now be able to proceed. Quite a significant model really, probably the first rc model to perform proper controlled rolls(1958) in competition, despite excessive dihedral by modern standards..OS 61 Blackhead going into mine. Cheers.
PatMc
The original Astro Hog used a KB35 turning a 12x4 prop. The KB35 (non -throttled version) was rated at 0.6 bhp by the manufacturer, recommended prop a 10x6.
