Nigel Heather
Last year I came back to the hobby after a 10 year gap. I discovered a huge swing to electric had happened in my absence so I got a foam-e acro wot as a cheap way to jump in. I find I like electric a lot, the foam-e flies well but to be honest I now decide that I'd like a traditional build (ply and balsa) but ARTF. The Acro Wot GP/EP then, but I find that there are nine to be had anywhere. So wondering what alternatives there are out there - any suggestions. Cheers, Nigel
Keith Berriman
I lost my 6 year old ARTF Acro Wot a month ago and searched the internet but none available for last 12 month. My alternative would have been various Seagull brands ( Airtek Hobbies seem to have some stock ) last alternative was the Kyosho Calamato the one with better covering . I had numerous 46 two strokes available and finished up with an ARTF Wot 4 to replace my aging one and that must have been one of the latter ones available Happy Searching
Don Fry
My view, I like foam ready builds. Lots of good ones out there. Cheap, quick. Take care with fittings. Wood and film jobs ARTF; between the uncertain covering materials, lack of glue, wrong glue, cheesium wire and bolt fittings, funny ways to attach controls, cheap fittings, plain badly made fittings, crap wood......... If you can build, might take a bit more time, but less stress, do a kit or plan.
brokenenglish
Apparently the various Wots are coming back into stock.
Paul Marsh
Soon it will be the Swap Meet season, maybe find one there. There were a couple of Wots Wot kit built models at last weeks' Nats, maybe find one?
Nigel Heather
Posted by brokenenglish on 27/08/2019 21:19:13: Apparently the various Wots are coming back into stock. That’s interesting, though one of the main shops says March 2020. I did look at them last year, but although the models were available the recommended motor and ESC were not. Sure you could use alternatives but I didn’t have the confidence. Not sure what Ripmax are playing at to be honest. Cheers, Nigel
SIMON CRAGG
Try Facebook marketplace. Different RC models turn up on a daily basis. Failing that, its got to be something from a plan. Very rewarding!,.
