BAE Hawk schemes

Just brought the Freewing Hawk in base colour .Want to paint my own paint scream on it .Fed up with all the Hawks in Red Arrow colour .I know the RAF have some Hawks in black but can someone tell me what colour the RAF paint there Hawks ,the one the pilots train on at RAF Valley in Wales .Also what is the best paint to use on these foam aircraft ,do not want the foam to be damaged by the paint

The Hawks I saw when driving past Valley looked black to me.

The jets at Valley are all Hawk T2s now but the odd T1 still goes in since Valley remains the maintenance hub for Hawk for the others at Scamton, leeming and Culdrose. The current T2 squadrons are 4 and 25 squadrons. T1 squadrons are 100 and 736 NAS.

Lots of 1 off T1 paint schemes over the years but that's the squadrons if you want to copy a current one.

I wonder what happens if you type "BAe Hawk RAF Valley" into Google and click the images tab.......?

I type in RAF Valley and your are right they are black .Now all I need to find out is what black paint to use

Looks good .What type of paint did you use .Just wonder if the Humber paint you use to paint the Airfix kits would be  OK ?

I wouldn't use humbrol, it may attack the foam. I used Vallejo paint and an airbrush.
