Stephen farrar
I have a turnigy G25 710kv motor which came apart as I was about to take off. The outer case with the prop shaft and outer magnets came apart from the windings and inner magnets part which remained attached to the fuselage. Any ideas why this would happen? J D 8
Had the same thing happen in flight with my RC factory Flash with Turnigy motor,[ slammed on full power as I went vertical ] I think the C clip at the rear of the motor failed or just came off. Got the aircraft back down alright with the remnants hanging by the wires. Prop, prop adaptor, shaft and outer casing all gone.
Dickw
The G25 710 product images on the HobbyKing website show a grub screw type collet fitted to stop that happening. Was that not supplied/fitted? I have similar on some of my more powerful motors presumably for just that reason. Dick
David Davis
I had the same experience on an old 4-Max electric motor but with a new circlip it's as good as new. In fairness I must add that the motor had survived this when the wings came off my Telemaster 40... ...and it went on to have many more flights in another model before the circlip failed.
