To much wind to test fly this sort of model. Possibly overpowered, most early types do not take kindly to that.

Good idea there to launch at lower power and to stiffen elevator control.

Hand launch on a calm day over long grass will very likely save any further repairs even if things do go wrong. Long grass and soft ground saved the day for my "winter fix up" F15 Good luck next time.SAM_1781.thumb.JPG.4f1ad5170bbc86a084b8442771b7601e.JPG

Ouch, hours of enjoyment (in the workshop) ?

To my mind it does look like the tail surfaces are very small, especially with the short moment arm.

It has been suggested that the tail surfaces are a tad on the small side Frank but the design has flown successfully in the past. If all else fails I can always experiment with card extensions

Where was the C of G Cliff?  Can you post a picture or link to a plan view?

Hi Martin, the cg was just a tad in front of the plan suggestion, it is now a couple of tads in front, I've reduced the throws and will hand launch on much less throttle, hopefully over long grass.

Thanks JD8, I'm confident of a successful outcome, thanks for the comment.

That F15 got the better of me again today, so small and fast I lost orientation had to jut cut the power and let it go in.

Found in field next door surrounded by sheep who may have thought it was edible. No damage, grass/luck saved the day again.
