transporting models to and from flightline

Hi guys , 

 

Has anyone come up with a design/idea of how to get models from pitts to flighline if they are awkward/ heavy to carry but you cannot taxi up to the flightline. Our club flightline is about 50yrds from the strip. 

Have a thought of some sort of attachment you hook on or place under the tail wheel then drag the model out to the flightline. Have tried rope around the stab but want something a little better .

 

Any ideas / thoughts

I wheelbarrow most of mine by hanging on to the fin. A touch of power just to mean i am not pushing the rudder but held firm enough to prevent it escaping.

In a model mag a few years ago a chap had an RC Land Rover towing his aircraft to the flight line, even had a " FOLLOW ME " sign and flashing lights like full size versions.

i'm toying with some sort of attachment to the rear wheel with which i can drag it out safely but not damaging the model and its easy to release

  Then a Two wheel dolly with a handle and a box on the axle for the tail wheel to drop into much like what is done to move full size about in confined spaces.  Slot in the box side for wire to exit from. For towing around corners box would have to swivel.

I often use a bungy strap hooked around the nose leg on my jet!
