Maurice Dyer
Not a newbie by any means. Just finished the Panic kit, O.S. 70 four stroke. Instructions give c of g at 100mms back from top wing leading edge. 4 inches in old money. Now, I'm a light builder, even with kits. But my model balances at 75 mm, 3 inches. Is 100 mms right or ??. Lead at the back ?? Anybody know ?
Andy Stephenson
Maurice, That CG is correct, it's been 4" for the last 30 years+.
kevin b
How far back can you move the battery and receiver ?
Dave Bran
Odd, my one turned out right on CG with no weighting and it has a two stroke 91 with aluminium flex plate rubber mounts and of course quite a heavy large prop up front.
Maurice Dyer
Thought so. Battery moved back from under the tank. Should have said: all three servos are in the fuse, no rudder servo in front of the fin. Rx. Is 2.4 and weighs a gnats.
Martin Harris - Moderator
Mine (unknown origin but probably knock-off copy) has the rudder servo in front of the fin and a 91 FX at the loud end. It doesn’t need additional weight. Rather than adding unnecessary lead, have you considered rear-mounting the rudder servo?
Maurice Dyer
Martin It's all built and covered now, thought it was the rest servo made the balance right. Thanks. It needs about 50 grand on the back, so no worries.
