Frank Skilbeck
New club member, a returning aeromodeller, has been going through his old bits and bobs and came across this engine, none of us have any idea what it is, anybody know. Frank Skilbeck
Alan thanks, any idea where and when they were made, not one I've heard of before. Edit - found it in the Spectre Flight engine test reports, so built in USA back in the early 1950s Edited December 20, 2022 by Frank Skilbeck
J D 8
Yes OK CUB and a diesel variant at that. I have a glow one later type with tank on the back. From the USA, went on sale in 1949, they were glow plug type. Did not know of a diesel type Edited December 20, 2022 by J D 8 extra info

brokenenglish
Going back to the ident. question, I thought small OK Cubs had "OK Cub" cast in the bottom of the crankcase. Mine have. J D 8
My example has OK CUB and numbers on the casing. Runs nice and is not hard to tune despite the strange blunt ended needle valve. Owners used to think they were broken but that is just the way they are.
