fly boy3
Hi all, the Rx anntena leads are quite long. What is best practice to route them in fus. Read they must be at right angles to each other. Does this mean on same plane ? No pun intended.lol Also is there any way to do a range check with this radio ? Cheers
GrumpyGnome
Mount them as much as possible at right angles. I some planes I have had one antenna running along the fuselage, and one into a wing.... others I have had both running along the fuselage with as much as possible in the vertical aspect - often just the last few inches. Not had any issues. I use pieces of straw glued to the airframe to hold them in position. I assume you mean an FS-I6X transmitter? I don't think there js a specific Range check function - flying chums seem to check the old fashioned way and walk off a few hundred yards whilst waggling sticks....... Frank Skilbeck
As Grumpy notes above, on 2.4 GHZ it's only the last 32mm unshielded section that is the aerial. If yours is this Rx then it's the end sections in the heat shrink that should be at 90 degrees to each other for maximum reception in all aircraft orientations. The transmission/reception is best when the transmitter and receiver aerials are parallel to each other.

fly boy3
Starting to get to grips with this new radio, but it’s taking time. If I actually new the difference between “setup” and “system” it may be quicker as I will know where to go first lol, but I am getting there.
