Gripper74
Hi. I am looking at converting a i/c B-17 to electric. Do I need a separate ESC for each motor?
Tom Gaskin 1
Hi G74, welcome to the forum! Yes, you will need a separate esc for each brushless motor. What size is this model? Do you have any motors in mind? Tom
Paul De Tourtoulon
You should do, but my Lancaster uses one esc for two motors, and as long as you throttle up slowly it's ok if you throttle up too fast only one motor turns.
Glenn Philbrick
I have a Lancaster and use a separate esc for each motor. But only use one esc to power the rx the other three have the red wire taken out and insulated. There's also lots of chat about which wires to lengthen if needed, all my esc are in the naceles so the leads from the battery have been lengthened.

Have a look at these information leaflets produced by specialist electric flight retailer 4-Max. https://www.4-max.co.uk/index.htm How to wire up 4 motors and UBECs for twin with electric retracts.pdf How 2 wire up multi motors.pdf
Gripper74
Thanks to all of you. The model is Pavel Bosak's B-17. It currently has 4 OS .25 motors in it, but looking to convert to electric, as mentioned. Thanks again
