For what its worth, I think the team who produce the magazine do a great job.

Its a thankless task.

Trying to get content on time, appealing to a broad spectrum of different branches of the hobby etc. etc.

They are never going to please all the people all the time.

Even on my basic laptop, its easy to read and never gets dog eared or chucked in the bin.

A gave up getting model related magazines years ago, and especially enjoy reading about other clubs, Mannys Musings, and keeping up to date with all things modelling.

Long may it continue, ignore the doomsayers and well done!.

Advert

TBH  the hobby really doesn't need anyone who might feel "cheated" at a mistake in an advert (in the printed hard copy only) which promised six copies rather than four copies, to the extent that they would consider contacting the Advertising Standards Authority or Trading Standards.

in the hard copy only ????

As we have all seen, the advert that you appear to have been getting all het up about, enough to start a thread raising the spectre of that ad being misleading enough to involve Trading Standards and the ASA, has been revised in it's online configuration and now shows the current situation -namely that four hard copies of the magazine are proved each year. That ad exists in those hard copies, but It's been amended in the on-line magazine, so there can be no terrible consequence should anyone "feel cheated", by reading the next issue.

In real terms we are talking about the difference between four copies at the opt-in price of £10. That's £2.50 a copy - or six copies. which would work out to £1.67 per copy. So you are worrying about less than a pound per copy difference.

There only appears to be one person getting unduly concerned about this and raising it on a daily basis - having started the thread, but been reluctant to explain what the cryptic opening post was about in the first place, presumably based on having seen the advert in the hard copy, which the vast majority of BMFA members would never even have seen.  That person ought to consider just leaving the non-issue to wither on the vine, as it's of precisely zero concern to anyone else.
