Chris Bott - Moderator
The weather was that good here in the midlands that four of us passed our B test this morning. Actually it was a real battle against the wind, but it seemed to bring the best out in all of us. Thanks to Brian Young for taking the tests and congrats to the other three: Danny Fenton, Dave Whitehouse and Paul Renkovic. We are all well chuffed. Tim Mackey
Nice one guys..... more of us, and less of them then Crikey, must be 30 years since I did my "B". On that note, I wonder if I ( and many others too no doubt ) would pass today?
Chris Bott - Moderator
Thanks Tim To be honest it seems the "B" had been built up in our club as something that was almost unobtainable. No one had even attempted to take it in over three years. Thankfully common sense has finally prevailed, a very professional session from an area cheif, and a number of us find we have probably been up to scratch for some time. A good feeling though, having a goal and acheiving it. Didn't mean to hijack the thread, the weather here has been sunny and windy. We have a club weather station and todays trend graphs of course show the peak wind and peak gusts around the time we were taking tests. Isn't it typical!! (actually, looking again, it got worse again about 16:00 onwards. Tomorrow looks worse, but some coming weekday evenings look really nice. John Privett
Posted by David Ashby - RCME moderator on 05/09/2009 13:37:44:Went down the patch but it was just that bit too windy....... nice and sunny too... Much the same over at Epsom. A touch on the breezy side and nobody else there. I hung around for 20 mins or so in case anybody turned up - then went home. Shortly afterwards it started raining... Tomorrow's forecast looks marginally better. (Where's the "fingers crossed" smiley when you need one?_
