Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Next time you are tempted to part with £3 for a plastic cup filled with brown water at a Motorway Service Station might I suggest you look around where they keep the sugar/milk for the wooden stirrers & help yourself to a few....these make excellent stirrers for mixing epoxy resins etc (& also are great for poking the resin whilst it dries....!!!) I'm sure they'd make great struts on Peanut Scale biplanes too.....
David Ashby - Moderator
Do it all the time Steve - the coffee shops I visit suffer irregular stirring stick attrition. Worked with a lass once who seeing that I took a few extra sticks popped in, in her lunch hour and relieved them of their whole supply - didn't even buy a coffee! Tim Mackey
Best thing available in McDs I reckon...certainly better than the food I always take a few from the ASDA Cafe also when I meet up with the Iawnski gang prior to a session on the rock. Trouble is, Kev has started to follow suit, and my stock levels at home are looking low - down to around a mere 100 or so at present

Phil Claridge
two stirrers glued together make good servo rails, also make good rx retainers wedged across fusalage
Olly P
The IKEA ones are unfortunatly thinner and sont work as well for building with, but are great for glue!

Bryce Allcorn - BritFlight.co.uk
And the Ikea paper tape measures make great tails for dog fighting!!! Dad and I lost a very naff spitfire due to this years back - probably only found 50% of the pieces!
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Perhaps we should complain to IKEA? Or better still get them all together so that they can better coordinate a range of sizes, widths, materials etc. to satisfy all our needs. If they really got going we could offer a prize for the first person to build a plane entirely out of stirrers! BEB PS Going off topic marginally - my subscription gift Camel arrive yesterday. So a big "thank you" to David for his efforts on that!!!!
