I agree cymaz, the annoyance factor is rising every time I visit! -
Good luck with your 1700. I think you'll like it.

I find it rather annoying too! -
I have the 1700mm version. Super easy to fly with no vices and looks good in the air. My only gripe is with the wheels and the landing gear itself. The wheels are too big, too hard and too heavy - I swapped them for some 5" dubros which work and look a lot better. The gear is way too stiff and offers no give whatsoever. I removed the springs completely which allowed the gear to flex a little. I made up a more scale like spring set up which still allowed the gear to flex upon landing. The flaps are very effective and help to make long, slow passes over the strip. The model is mildly aerobatic if that floats your boat but, I think it looks best being flown in a scale like manner. Also great for touch and goes. Very relaxing to fly.

Winter is here....who's been flying?
Steve Colman replied to Chris Walby's topic in Flying Field Reports and Chat
Seven weeks to this day, I fractured 3 Metatarsels in my foot and also chipped the bottom of my Tibia, seriously inhibiting my ability to get about of course. Of those 6 weeks 4 of them have been perfect for flying, a little chilly at times but mostly blue skies and very little wind. Typical! -
Thanks for posting this. Excellent!

Postscript to the above: If I could find a new one I'd snap it up in a shot!

Another fan of the Mentor here. I flew a friends as a tug for some glider towing and loved it. He left it to almost die and I persuaded him to let me have it. It's in a poor state but I do intend to repair it and fly it again. I remember such easy landings with it; a wonderful model.

Another from the event at my club last weekend
Steve Colman replied to Steve Colman's topic in The Video Channel
Hi Outrunner, not quite. It was a special event we arranged with another club from Barcelona. The pilots were from all over Spain, with others from Portugal, France, Italy and Denmark. In total there were 80 pilots and 120 planes. It was a fantastic weekend! -

I'm a very happy Twinstar owner and flyer too. Mines somewhat plain compared to the examples shown but it flies on a regular basis and flies great and super easy to land.
