  1. I built mine in 1982 too, I powered it by an Irvine 20 & it flew well.
  2. A lovely flying day in the Swingate HIRTA, perhaps that's why it was so warm!! An ex BARCS champion gave a superb demonstration of thermalling, almost made the birds jealous. Tony
  3. The Hobbyking Phoenix 2000 is difficult to beat for value & it flies very well.
  4. Oratex, as used on microlights, which is similar to Solartex, may be an alternative to smelly & expensive dope. I believe there are other Dacron like materials available for light a/c too.
  5. I use Tippex, on exhaust pipe screws it heat hardens but can still be released as required.
  6. I have a pair of wings & the joining tube in perfect condition. Available to anyone who can collect from Sandwich/Dover. Mine flew very well, electric powered, until the rx battery failed.
  7. One of my colleagues had large Seagull Space Walker powered by this engine. It flew very well, mostly at half throttle so noise was not an issue.
  8. Many thanks F1 for the link to BigPlanes, they are a new name to me & offer better value than Perkins. I have identified an alternative plug but not the CM6, it is too small in diameter.
  9. Hello, I recently took the u/c off my Acrowot XL. The Roto 35 powering it is mounted inverted & the plug cap took enough impact to tear the cap from the HT lead. There is no other damage. The Roto uses an unusual plug which is flat topped so a conventional plug cap is not suitable. A new CDI unit is £120!!. Can anyone help with re-connecting the plug cap to the HT lead, please? 10. Posted by Chris Walby on 08/02/2019 12:51:04: Another Wots Wot Not flown any other bi-planes, but it seems nice enough with electric with no unwanted traits. Rather lively with the 3 turn spin on the first go, but after a cup of tea I am okay now! I really enjoy my TT75 powered version. Like all CF designs, it flatters my flying!
  11. Only weak spot I have found it the ply undercarriage plate. it's not crazy weak, but doesn't like bad landings. I am glad I am not the only one to experience this!!
