  3. Been using Sadolin PV7 varnish on last 2 models, Satin finish 2K brushed on . Went on over Guild and Humbrol enamels. Dry in 15 minutes or less depending on temp and so far ok. Left to cure for a couple of weeks and been runnning in a couple of 2st in model no ill effects so far with fuel residue.

  10. NO anti spin strakes?? Are you having a relapse ?
  11. to get a manufacturers opinion you could ask Jon on this forum if he would recommend doing it to a laser engine? What ever you decide still a damn good model?
  12. ? equivalent to cutting your right arm off!!! definitely would not recommend it, as it has been manufactured to that length for a purpose and it would certainly devalue the engine if you decided to dispose of it. Though it is down to personal choice but why cut a engine up for 6mm, you did say sport scale.
  13. The gaps are authenticity?, full size aircraft have more gaps than a hair coombe that's how you know things are working. Hope the garden session goes well.
  14. Used the 3.5 mini jack on my 1987 Reeves Hurricane. Been resurrecting it and the jack still works fires up a ST90 2st, many years on just had to resolder the wires?
  15. I usually give doculam a rub with fine grade wet &dry (1500) to give a key for grey primer Halfords or similar .
  16. Given all the travails you have encountered still a excellent model to your usual standard. (even though you started as sport scale?)
  17. looking for a stress free build, this may well fit the bill?(Parasol wing SE 5A)
  18. Just been posting a reply and the site speed needs to peddle a lot fast ?
  19. With a 16oz tank and the throttle setting for the Auster scale flight you may need a food parcel sending to the pilot box?
  20. Danny your sport scale is so good you are giving me an inferiority complex. Not so many rivets as normal but still rather good. Well done BTW 12oz tank on a 62 2t gave 15min at full throttle for the friend that maidened my Typhoon when throttle stuck at full chat.
  21. Cautionary tale. A friend maidened a Nihaus Typhoon for me yesterday,7 min into the flight no throttle control with engine on full chat and a 14oz tank. He enjoyed himself on aerobatics while we waited for the fuel to run dry(15minutes). Glides like a brick with no power followed by a wheels up landing and no damage, his assessment was nice model I enjoyed that!! Had the cowel off today, servo fine, carb fine, snake connection between servo and carb was plastic running along side inverted BCM muffler result shown below. nicely melted and stetched sprue. Will be modified for either bowden cable or carbon rod in original outer. Pleased to still have a model to use.
  22. If People knew what actually held the wings on in most aircraft majority would walk instead??
