Greenacres August fly-in
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to Bill_B's topic in Shows, Club Events and Competitions
I uploaded a few to FB, they can be seen here.... **LINK** **LINK** **LINK** **LINK** -
Hi Neil, a fellow scorcher of all things balsa and ply here I like the note about profit, I wish you would tell me how that works , agreed the time and investment in gear, software, learning and materials is huge, and I have a few years to say my machine has paid for itself, but I would never turn the clock back, I love it, the challenges of redrawing something from times gone and trying to make it work in todays era, the sense of achievement once done is priceless, oh and to see a pile of your cuttings flying around gives one a sense of pride Anyway, welcome to the club

CAD/CAM cutting files
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to Reed's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
Hi Reed, I offer CAD as part of my laser cutting service, if you have a plan I can reproduce the parts, if you don't I probably would be able to get hold of it, you can see what I do on my Lasercraft Facebook page, there are samples of CAD and laser cutting on there -
SOPWITH 1/3 SCALE STRUTTER
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to Boz's topic in Build Blogs and Kit Reviews
You can't go wrong with Ian TW overseeing, lookig forward to seeing some pics of sticks glued together I'm toying with the idea of a SE5a or a BE2c in 1/3 scale, although I do like the Fokker DVII, but there again I do have a Spad VII in need of finishing and a part built DVa, must find some time from somewhere -
SOPWITH 1/3 SCALE STRUTTER
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to Boz's topic in Build Blogs and Kit Reviews
Hi Boz, nice subject and good luck with it, looking forward to the blog. With the weight being over 20kgs, it will need registering with the LMA over 20kg scheme, it is very easy to do and they will be very helpfull with your build. There are some very nice wooden props out there at the mo, and Propguy does some really nice laminated ones. Take your time, check, check and check again and you'll be fine. -
4.5 hours later and still only 70% downloaded, and I have fibre! better be worth the wait

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?....erm yep, ok get the kettle on! -
Is there a link for a direct download anywhere that isn't a clean install? I registered my upgrade a couple of months ago and it still tells me they will notify me when it's ready, but I want it now!

Flycatcher
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to Lindsay Todd's topic in Own Design Project Blogs
I suspect RCME are working on a laser short kit for it, they regularly do, maybe David Ashby could shed some light, if they are not, then I would be happy to produce a set, I won't do it if they are as it's not fair for me to reproduce anything commercially available. -

Does foam float your boat?
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to Beth Ashby Moderator's topic in Model Flying Polls
I fly several foamies, as well as wooden artfs and wooden scratch builds, my visionnaire and my hawker tempest foamies are the ones I can throw in the car, go fly, throw em around and not worry too much about unscheduled landings in all their guises. My wooden artfs let me play about with scalish flying and I do prefer to buy the more scale versions, but again I don't have to worry about bending them too much, I also have a WOT4 Xtreme I use for large model practise. All these give me the air time and practise so when I do throw a scratch built in the air I already feel comfortable flying it. -
I bought one of these as a first glider for flat field flying initially. On opening the box and examining the parts I was quite impressed with the finish and quality. Mine was the PNP version and looked fairly straight forward to build with no many parts to throw together. However, after reading the manual a few times to familiarise myself, things did not go according to plan when I actually started. The first problem I had was the wing plates that screw to the top and bottom of the wings to hold them together, it wasn't entirely clear from the pics which was which for top and bottom, but I soon figured that out, even so, the top one will not sit completely down when screwed down tight. Next was the wing screws that hold it to the fuz, 4 are needed and I was supplied with 3. OK not a major problem again but very frustrating, so I located another screw of the same spec and attempted to fit the wings to the fuz....Oh dear! The rear t/e screws fit perfect, but the 2 l/e screws will not locate, on inspection, the holes do not line up with the plates and the screw goes in at an angle and the head of the screw catches the top of the plate and therefore will not screw all the way home. The other problem with the model is the canopy has to plastic snap lock type holders that hold the canopy in place, for whatever reason these do not work and the canopy/hatch just falls off at the slightest touch. That is basically as far as I have got with this one, I gave up on it and put it in the corner to collect cobwebs or until I have a flash of inspiration and get it sorted. Maybe it's me, or maybe it's a duff kit, but the idea was to buy a foamie "Quick" build to get something new in the air fast, obviously I have too high an expectation of all things artf

Looking for a decent BAe hawk
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services replied to David perry 1's topic in Electric Ducted Fan
I've just bought this, yes it's foam, but it doesn't look it from 6ft away, very solid and very detailed, comes with everything except rx and battery, it really is A1+, very impressed **LINK**
