Steve, JR hasn't folded. It's under new ownership (RC Depot). It's still made in the same Malaysian and Japanese factories as before. Unfortunately it's not very well represented in the UK.

I use "Rhino Goo" from Demon Tweeks. I'm sure similar products are available elsewhere but they sometimes do 2 x 5 l for the price of 1. I use it diluted 50% with water and it works extremely well, also good in an ultrasonic cleaner for engine parts.

I have recently bought two model related items from the USA, both from different vendors and I received both within 2 days of order with the UK 20% VAT being paid at point of purchase. Delivery to my door was by UPS for one order and DHL for the other. Parcel force were not involved and no VAT collection fee was charged? I think it is US Postal Service that use Parcel Force for the delivery and VAT payment in the UK. I just specify for USPS not to be used. Edited By jrman on 11/09/2020 19:14:50

Use a large thin plastic bag such as you get with dry cleaning, not a stiff food storage type.

If you don't have access to another Tx to compare why not check the output of the one you do have? These are excellent and good for regular checks. **LINK**

I've got the same problem on a couple of Panasonic cameras which have a thin plasticised rubber coating. I've found wiping/rubbing with IPA helps but it's impossible to stop it happening. The V&A museum has got similar problems with some plastic exhibits decomposing into a dry granular state or oily/sticky condition depending on what plastic it is and I don't think they have found a solution. I had some drawing lettering stencils and adjustable squares that crumbled or developed an oily surface as well. It looks like a tractor prop for a reverse rotation engine. I don't think it's a pusher prop.

Are you sure it isn't a reverse rotation prop?

Ziplock freezer bags filled with sand or lead shot are excellent for providing a conforming weight when sheeting wings etc.

I have a number of 4 st with turbo Headers (from Just Engines) and I find them excellent. They don't come loose (use PTFE tape), small and easily installed at any angle. They lower the tone of the exhaust note to a more acceptable level compared to the mfg' s (OS & Saito) silencers. Thoroughly recommended.

C8, I know that but can't see how you can measure a voltage drop connected directly to the battery without a switch in the circuit. How was the higher voltage measured and subsequently the lower voltage?

Jonathan, I'm intrigued how you measured a volt drop directly connected to the battery? Where were the volts being dropped? How did you measure the "starting" voltage other than by connecting directly to the battery? Edited By jrman on 17/07/2020 13:18:38

Scott, Have you checked the battery voltage through the switch or charge socket compared to direct from the battery? I thought mine were fine until I discovered the volt drop. Mine were all JR switches.

I have used them in the past but have since replaced them all with switches with charging leads not sockets. Although buying branded makes I found the volt drop across the switch and through the charge socket was excessive (just over 1v in one case).
