  1. #Tom is RC mad I would think Harlow would be the closest of the choices on the Met office site.
  2. Why, when I try to look at threads that have a large number of posts do I not see any? (posts that is). Danny's Spitfire thread for instance! But only when I am logged in it would seem.Edited By Brian Lambert on 16/06/2011 16:38:30
  3. Well you could have bent the crank shaft ( which would require a new crankshaft realy) but did you replace the propeller and did you balance it? may be the answer.Brian
  4. "less than £60 where from?" try here
  5. Nothing like up to date news"On January 9th, 2009 - Air Velocity Pty Ltd, the company which operated the model aircraft / carbon fibre side of Bolly Props was forced to close it's doors. Now is not the time to elaborate, but we can say that this decision was forced upon us by external events not of our choosing."
  6. "It does look like an alignment issue as the damage is in one specific area dont you think?" Well no, the cage and your balls will be going round and round at a high speed. So any misalignment would affect all the caged balls equally. if the races look clean and undamaged then I give up and hand you back to Alan C who does engineering as a living.
  7. Erm how do I put this? Are your balls rusty? especialy the ones in the damaged area of the cage! if so I will bet ( but not a lot ) that you don't use after run oil and you store the engine nose down after use.
  8. Try goggling for hydrocal, model railway shops or war gamers use it.
  9. Will anyone be going to the show? I sure hope to, one of the better shows I think.   Anyone else going? Edited By David Ashby - RCME Administrator on 12/03/2011 09:29:40
  10. I think household Ammonia is normally 9-10% with water. Homebase also do/did stock it as a cleaner.
  11. Ah if we are going to the USA for them how about these? When back in stock! Edited By Brian Lambert on 26/02/2011 16:33:47
  12. Tim you may want to look closer at those crimpers they are for insulated terminals!
  13. You mean the quote from their website is a little optimistic then? "The R-C.co.uk website currently lists over 30,000 RC Products all available to order online"
  14. Adrian It gets complicated quickly, if I was to say that on most aircraft there was a larger area of rudder above the longitudinal axis which will induce roll in the opposite direction but not normally enough to completely cancel the rudder created roll would that help? No I thought not, just learn to fly your model the rest you can learn later. There are many articles on the web covering aerodynamics without filling up this forum. All the best to you in your flying career. Sorry didn't answer your question.... "so in theory of the wing moving fast hence producing the roll effect also means that some degree of adverse force would be needed to control the roll via the elevator or aileron??"..... well yes opposite aileron would work, but the designer may also help by building in some dihedral, I will let you think about that for the moment,
  15. In principle I would agree with BEB, but I have used metal clamp type mounts on Black Horse ARTFs totally successfully, and they do allow a little fine adjustment of engine position.
  16. Ahh the rudder, much simpler move the stick to the left...rudder moves left. This pushes the tail right and therefore the nose goes to the left.....Do you want to stop there or go onto the fact that the nose moving to the left means the right wing is now traveling faster than the left and therefore producing more lift which will produce a roll to the left. Did I say the rudder was simple?
  17. To make up for my earlier mistake I will answer this one, stick forward or up, elevator will move down ie push the nose of the aircraft down. For left aileron you want the left wing to go down and therefor the left aileron will move up. Does that make sense?
