  1. I have one as well and it is excellent for printing decals for warbirds. I normally just look for the decal online then copy the image and resize it to the size I require before cutting. If you need a complex decal you can use several layers. I have made stars and bars and soviet stars as well as squadron codes and really small hatch signs. What I love most about it is the ease of setting it all up. Having said that, I have sold most of my aircraft now and will be selling it if anyone is interested in purchasing it.
  2. Chris I have a set of retracts taken out of my Seagull Mosquito that I may be persuaded to part with. Pm me
  3. Tony, I know this may be a stupid answer but there is not a protective plastic sheet attached to the canopy is there?
  4. Cheers Tony. I hope the motor is marked so I can tell when I get it out.
  5. Posted by Tony Nijhuis on 26/02/2019 23:13:28: Ian...so looking back through the postings you say you have the FMS 50mm from Banggood?... and assume it 3S version not the 4S? ........on the assumption you have some cheat holes in the sides you have 600g of thrust at your disposal!!! thats one to one trust to weight ratio which rocket stuff!!!......if you can only get it to power glide without the lid off, then there is something wrong with your Fan/ lipos or ESC setup.....the Hunter is 5oz heavier than the Mig and goes like a rocket (as did the MiG)! I will do a video of MiG at some point if only to silence the critics! Ahh, I will have to dig the fan out because it never occurred to me that it may be a 4s version which may be why I am getting no joy. It has loads of power with the lid off. I have tried a cheat hole in the bottom of the fuz and enlarged ducts in the side with poor results so maybe this is the answer. Thanks for the reply Tony.
  6. Congratulations Tony, She flies with a good turn of speed and looks really smooth in the air. Can you do a video of the mig 15 as well please because I cannot get mine to fly unless I leave the top lid off and I want to see where I have gone wrong. Thanks Ian
  7. Posted by Fun Flyer on 17/02/2019 19:50:43: The only thing we're missing now is the plan. And a video of it flying so we can see what the flying characteristics are like.
  8. Thanks Percy will look in to the Mosquito retracts. Thanks for the pointer on Aeroplane monthly J D 8. I definitely want retracting undercarriage so may attempt making my own set. I have found a decent article on RCU where a guy makes a set. Cheers
  9. I am just embarking on building this model and think the undercarriage is the only thing I may have a challenge to build. Alan Gorham, I have just messaged you to see if I can see the photo's you have from Mr Hardy please. Ian
  10. The Topflite P47 Thunderbolt is a nice and easy kit to build with a great instruction book included and it looks good and fly's nicely as well. It might be tricky to get one but it's worth it.
  11. Good luck Jack. Keep us posted and if possible get someone to film it in flight.
  12. The photo's look great Tony and they are great that they are taken by the editor but I wouldn't mind a video of them flying so I can see how well they fly to give myself and others inspiration to persevere with ours. Thanks
  13. I have one and can say that it is a quality kit which takes no time at all to assemble. It flies like a dream, is really stable and looks fantastic in the air and sounds great as well. I fly off of a grass strip and the sprung undercarriage handles the lumps and bumps with no problems. It is the most expensive model I have ever purchased but it honestly puts a smile on my face every time I fly it.
  14. I have installed one of these in to my VW campervan and can vouch for their effectiveness. I woke to a minus seven outside temp in Scotland last winter switched it on and twenty minutes later was basking in about 15 degrees and the van was thawed out. Never thought of installing one in my workshop. Good idea
  15. Nice job Glen, I love an uncovered balsa model Now if you can just hack holes in it to let the air in that would be great
  16. Ken, I have cut a inch and a half square cheat hole just before the fan on the underside of the fuselage but it made no difference and would probably need a louvre type device to guide the air into it but of course you cannot really do that because you land on it. I will probably enlarge the two on the side of the fuselage and try that and if it doesn't work I will place the air frame gently in the skip and call it a day. I think the fact that hardly anybody appears not to have built and flown one speaks volumes.
  17. Just out of interest, I have built and flown the mig with a Banggood fan in it and can report that with just the intakes on the plan applied it sank to the deck so I took the cover off (with the canopy etc attached) and it was transformed and flew successfully with a fair lick of speed. I am now trying to work out a way of getting more air in with the lid on that looks ok but have not come up with an idea yet. I notice that there is a distinct lack of flying videos of aircraft from this plan by Mr Nijhuis and RCME which makes me wonder as to how well it actually flew before it was published. Previous free plans normally had a video of the prototype to observe.
  18. That really looks superb Ray. What electric set up did you use and do you have many construction photo's I could look at to get an idea to build one from Depron please.
  19. Ken I am fine thanks. It is my mistake as I thought you were building the Mig. It all becomes clear now. Will be interested to see your Sabre when its finished. Ian Moody...Finished Sabre Watch dept.
  20. Ken, The formers on the plan have stringers set in them where as the formers you have don't appear to have them which is strange or is my eyesight deceiving me?
  21. Another problem I have had with mine is the round bar between the retract and the undercarriage cross bar (sorry don't know the correct term for it) snapped on both retracts on a landing that wasn't heavy in the slightest. I have converted my retracts to a set of servoless metal jobs from Hobbyking and a mate has turned a set of decent steel bars for me. He says the supplied bars are made from special Vietnamese goats cheese I will be interested as to how much lead you will need to add with ic engines as I am considering putting two SC 70 Fourstrokes in mine.
  22. Good one Richard. I have been avoiding flying mine for a while but with this decent weather we are now getting I will give it another go.
  23. Excellent Danny that is great news. So I just have to find out why mine is so twitchy now. Di you try a loop and a stall test?
