  1. David, You could try Abebooks - they have a search facility that will search many book dealers in the UK.
  2. The Harry Potter appreciation society demonstrate the power of their magic.
  3. Bootleg Dave Clark Five (and groupies) give their rendition of - 'Its in pieces, bits and pieces'
  4. No increase is good news, a shame the thread has led to bickering - time to close it down?
  5. Used this firm a couple of times - first class service: **LINK**
  6. Hi Chris, Are you using the DX5 supplied with the RTF kit? You could try binding the Apprentice to a different Tx. I had issues with the Apprentice re-setting itself in the air, like Timothy I ditched the Safe receiver and fitted a standard AR400, no further problems.
  7. Never had a problem with my apprentice overheating there is plenty of air through flow, although I never really pushed it at full throttle for more than 30 seconds. Just retired it after completing 44+ flying hours.
  8. Visited Model & Hobby World yesterday (60 mile round trip) well worth it. Great shop well stocked, offered coffee or tea whilst browsing. Part Exchanged some kit and left with a new model and some accessories, real people, real first class friendly service.
  9. Chris, my apprentice will fly A certificate type manoeuvres for 12 minutes and depending on the conditions the battery will discharge down to somewhere around 50%. In addition to the supplied eflite battery I use 3350mAh Overlander 3s, there is no problem with the CofG and the slightly larger battery.
  10. My wife used 'Pity his pan boils' if someone is moaning or frustrated - never really understood what she meant.
  11. BEB - Its the way of the world Big Get More Sales Brother is watching - get your own back and answer the questions before they are asked it confuses the robot behind the counter as they lose their place in the script they are reciting. (Its not their fault as they are commanded by a higher authority to get the sale).
  12. Talking of tractors the supermarket where I buy my RCM&E (Te*co) has moved the mag from its location with other modelling and aeronautical publications and placed it on the shelf with Farmers Weekly, Hot Tractors and other farm related mags. Suggest the next cover of the mag should include Sean the Sheep to completely blend in with its surroundings.
  13. Excellent service from Gliders Distribution (UK). Place an order for a battery charger and Tx Battery Friday late morning and received it by 09:30 next day. Basic postage charge was £2.99, which when compared to another well-known web-retailers minimum quote of £9.49 left me pleased. Would use this retailer again.
  14. Hi Dai - quite agree, just flicked through the October issue looks like its going to be a good read.

    ANO changes

Gary quite agree that trying to remember clause numbers is irrelevant however the Achievement Scheme 2016 V2 Guidance handbook, yet to be amended states: Candidates are not expected to be "word perfect" with their answers but they should be able to demonstrate that they are fully aware of the legal controls for model aircraft flying. For example if a candidate gives the answer to Question 4 (What does article 138 of the ANO state?) when asked Question 3 (What does article 137 of the ANO state?) it is likely they are aware of both answers and the examiner should point out they have answered the wrong question and ask for the correct answer.

    ammo box

Completely removing the rubber seal means that the closing/locking mechanism is ineffective and the latch just hangs loose. I have remover the seal from three sides and left it in place at the short end opposite the hinge. This gives a positive closing action but does not completely seal the box. My boxes are lined with thin foam to insulate them and each li-po is in its own bubble wrap sack.
  17. Thanks Trevor the information is much appreciated, as I have said its still unbuilt in the box perhaps this winter I may get the chance to start building it,# Kevin
  18. I am Sagitarious looking at the posts did the stork that delivered me get it wrong? I am almost ambiwhatsit, can write with both hands albeit poorly with the left - knife in left fork in right hand - rifle in left - both when spannering.
  19. Hi Trevor - your SE5A looks good, could you tell me what electric set-up you used ESC, Motor, Prop, etc? I have an unbuilt Flair one and the accessories.
  20. 'Mouser' waits patiently for catnip pilot to leave aircraft.
  21. After years of being around and maintaining aircraft the attraction has worn off, just models for me.
  22. Quite agree Peter, but this is 'The Summer of Sport' roll on Winter. Wonder if the BBC would make any money if it was Pay to View!
  23. These misguided sad people's egos are no doubt bursting with excitement at the number of hit they are receiving on their web-site. The real danger is that they will try and do more and more stunts to maintain their notoriety. I for one will not look at another clip with luck they will either be prosecuted or just go away.
