Nope. Manufactured in Taiwan.
-
Sounds like a plan!
-
Not necessarily. They may not expect you to use CA. I don't use it very much for initial builds - I prefer aliphatic, or Gorilla wood glue, or even plain old pva..
-
That twin looks good, sounds great!
-
My point really is that descriptions are often misleading......
-
You're probably right...... although others (nexus for example) quote the same........ So, as Jon said earlier, if an accident is scrutinised carefully, and you fitted a servo advertised as unsuitable for your purpose, where would you stand? (Best get the servo from somewhere whose description is less specific 😀)
-
I tend to use the plastic bags that come surrounding larger parts of ARTFs....
-
The description of those servos says "ideal for throttle servo or parkflyers"........... I'd suggest the Gangster isn't a parkflyer.....
-
So what plans can I buy instead

Interesting. My Seagull Spacewalker is beautifully built - much better than my H9 Valiant. This is my second Valiant... my first one was far superior in build quality. In my experience, all QC is a little 'patchy'. Including premium brands -
Please let us know the results....... we have no noise issues or restrictions but I do feel a tad...... guilty.......firing up my petrol engines
-
Oh, I recommend them. You just need to treat them delicately....... don't force them... use the right pin for the job
-
AFAIK, s, you have to declare it. My premium went up by about 10%.
-
Be careful though, they bend VERY easily......

Looks nice, flies very nicely, nice graceful aeros, can fly ridiculously slowly with the flaps fully down (airbrakes!). Not really designed for a FS as tank ends up being too high - so rather than take a saw to it, I fitted an on-board-glow that I can switch to high for starting, then low for flying, where it switches off if I'm at above 25% throttle. A newer engine may not have needed this....

My board is a old kitchen worktop with cork tiles attached by Evostick. It sits permanently on one of the large kitchen units in my pigeon coop (workshop). I also use the rather excellent SLEC jig for building/fixing fuselages. That's on a 12 mm (I think) piece of mdf that sits on the building board for several days, with weights on, before being used.

Yes it is. And yes, it's a Valiant - great plane! That was going to be the recipient of the Saito in the SW, but flying it I realised that the old and tired SC91FS is perfect for it......... It's my second Valiant, bought at the flying field, over t'internet, about 15 mins after Valiant 1 was trashed by, I believe, a rather 'noisy' voltage regulator. Oddly, the fit and finish of this one is far poorer..... bought about 12 months apart.
-
One should be enough to get to solo if you're instructed on a buddy box. You'll likely trash it in the 12 months after when there is no 'safety net'...
-
@totowhen do you think you'll be using the Timber LiPo? No point in charging it if you're not using it soon......

I said I wasn't going to buy any new planes for a while, but was going to replace some engines. A nice NIB Saito FA82A appeared on an auction site at a 'give-way' price........ No bidding war so Mr Postie delivered it a couple of days later. So, what do I replace...... Prime candidate was the old SC91 in my Valiant. Then I flew it again, and was reminded that the engine and plane were already a perfect match. Couldn't be bothered to fix my Ultrastick, so ordered this from Model Shop Leeds at a very good price. An oldie but a goodie, made even better by the 3D printed engine you can see. Maidened it today - flies nicely with just 2 clicks of 'up' needed. Sadly, a loose spat limited it's airtime. (There are now 3 of these, of various ages, in our small club - mine is the only noisy one!) -
@Erfolg ouch..... Not good. Few mishaps at our field too: Dodgy left wing wing servo in a large Wotty - no damage Completely failed right wing servo in my Valiant - no damage Tailwheel came off the big Wotty (not for the first time!) Spat came loose on my Spacewalker maiden - landed with no damage Engine playing up on a Spit - deadstick landing caused minor damage. Despite that, was a thoroughly enjoyable few hours - I only came home because I ran out of glow fuel for the Double Trouble.... It's raining heavily now.
