Whilst the Junior 60 is a good recommendation I would highly recommend the Super 60. I still have one in my garage from at least 30 years ago and it still is going strong. Like you I enjoy the building and this plane is a pleasure to put together. Would suggest aliphatic resin as a glue rather than Cyano!

I second Trevor's remark about what a great forum this is. The wealth of knowledge of those who are prepared to help other modellers solve a problem is praiseworthy indeed. It is akin to a healthy club environment where if you need help someone is always willing to assist. Despite having 50 years in this hobby I learn something new each week. Long live this forum.

With all the enjoyment and friends I have acquired over the years embroiled in this hobby I cannot for the life of me imagine giving this all up for the sake of a simple 10 minutes test and a paltry £9 fee. Life is too short to for cutting your nose off to spite your face! If it wasn't for the BMFA you would have far more strictures to moan about. I also cannot understand why you take the time to contribute to the best forum the committed modeller has when you have declared your intention to divorce yourself from the hobby.

Some months ago I ( I believe it was this site) I saw a discussion regarding a diesel? garage heater which exhausted through the garage wall. I have tried to search for it but cannot get a result. Can anyone assist in identifying the relevant heater?

The Skyways Chippahawk is the best practical model you could wish for. Simple to build and fly. Fully controllable IN REVERSE when a stiff wind blows and easily lands in this fashion. Still have mine after 30 years and still flying well. Forget ARTF's this one is built to last.

Like Martin I am suspicious that no visual footage of the offending object is available for scrutiny by the authorities.The length of time the object is alleged to have been in the air would have surely afforded a good opportunity. If indeed it was a drone, the length of time alone, in my view, precludes the type of idiot who has purchased one from Lidl and using it dangerously. It suggests a more committed professional who has the kit to sustain this longevity. We could well do without this behaviour when our hobby has been under such close scrutiny of late. I would not be in favour of banning 2.4g on the basis that it would be easier to shoot down a drone which was on 35meg, (Tongue in cheek!)

I hope those that constantly moan about the BMFA contribute in more positive ways to other aspects of the hobby. Where else is everything covered by he BMFA offered by any organisation. I shudder to think of the cost were it to be 'privatised'. The cost of joining the BMFA is peanuts for what benefits you get . We would now be restricted to 250gr models with a 400' height restriction without the efforts of the BMFA. It must be very disheartening to Andy Symons who gives his all to our hobby to have to read the criticism of a VERY small minority on a daily basis. Keep up the good work Andy and acknowledge that your efforts are appreciated by 99% of the membership!

Could Andy make comment on the following which have raised concerns by an individual re security of information and issues re Azolve . Azolve makes no warranty or representation that the SaaS Solution ........will be fit for a particular purpose, that it will not infringe the rights of third parties .......that it will be secure and that all information provided will be accurate. At the same time, Firefox won't let you open any feature option on the 'Azolve Go Membership' website, saying "it has been configured improperly and is insecure and my information could be stolen" (quote)

I attended the Leicester Seminar where the cost for club registration was estimated at around £10 per month as I recall. I have not heard what the definitive cost to Clubs will be - can this be clarified. The terms and conditions of the contract with the BMFA and the software provider are extremely convoluted and if I recall correctly no guarantee is undertaken that any service will be provided! I understand the legal implications of third parties with the BMFA and the necessity for explicit contracts but to the layman the legal terminology can be very off putting. I am sure the complexity of the document may deter some from partaking. A simple guide is needed to encourage participation.

I found this on U tube and with common sense precautions viz. not standing TOO close to the runway on approach then it seems a simple solution to the problem. Altogether a good video for general flying also. **LINK** Roger Price

I think you may have misunderstood the reference to pin the hinges. This entails drilling right through all (both sides) of the wing/tailplane/rudder hinges and gluing a wooden cocktail stick so there is no chance of them pulling out under high loads.
