Nice to see this unusual subject, it's fairly rarely modelled. My father did a Flivver for an OS .20 / .28 fs at 1/6th scale..... it was a bit twitchy to fly even after careful trimming, very short moment arms and big controls surfaces. Once the control input was mastered it was really quite docile. I doubt that there's another tail dragger with such awesome ground handling, once it was down it was stuck until you told it otherwise.

I couldnt get permission to use my friends 100mbit connection so didn't manage to rip the first two posted vids..... but I did manage to get some of their others...... There's others that have been removed too, which is a shame So, who's the best bod to contact within the BMFA?

I was only reading a thread about this model on FlyingGiants / on the builders website a few days ago, What a shame

I've never done aero-tow but have done flat field, where one sets the hook 28 degrees forward of CG +/- 2 degrees...... if you think of the whole bungee, winch launch and running tow-ee 'flightpath' this makes sense, but to tow from that far back (I think) would put the glider too far above the tow plane for safety From what I've seen / read here: **LINK** an Aero-tow release does not Have to be located the pointiest point.... at a guess some of the models have the aero-tow hitch at 80 degrees in front of CG.

Just had a Bae Hawk make two passes over Porthtowan (Cornwall) going pretty damn quickly.... I guess it's doing bombing runs on RAF Portreath. By the sound of it, he's loitering and maybe about to make another pass.

What a horrid situation for the trio to be in. Too many vino heads, too many motorbikes. Froome riding away from Quintana..... no surprise as he's Nothing without his security blankie named Alberto.

Steve, there is also a small trad kit by Westwings **LINK** @ 60" span, which I looked / re-looking into into for 'local to my locale' flying.... I have cliffs on my doorstep so it would make a good / unusual sloper with a 'get me home' up front.

They then claim that they are tired. etc. The riders in the Tour de France ride for several hours a day, sometimes up and down mountains, for what is it? Three weeks!! They get acouple of rest days in that time. When I hear the footballer's excuse that they were tired I just think "Wimp!!" Hehe. 'Rest Days' are when they go cycle 50 - 70 miles looking at the picturesque scenery The closest to a footballer in cycling are the pure sprinters, they turn themselves inside out going up the big col with a smile on their face before, during And after...... then call it 'good training'.

The Olympians I know do this all the time - work a job and work and train till they vomit, do it some more then go make their opponents look silly. If these 'competitors' (the 'ballers) were 'Of the right stuff', they would be the ones resigning after each saying in interview 'We failed our country because we're slackers etc whatever'...... but most dont have the testi or linguistic skill to do this. Kids parents 'act' competitive to make up for the shortcomings of their kids and themselves - a well known fact that.

I've used Mylar and Melinex on c/l combat models (but cant remember the thickness, maybe 20 - 25 mic*) stuck on with pva, balsaloc or evo-stick. It can be bought from places that sell packaging products - common use is the tear-top of plastic sandwich cartons etc. One thing to remember, if you do cover with this stuff, you have to have a structure that's capable of taking the immense stress of shrinkage of even the thinnest stuff...... it makes nylon / dope covered structures seem 'floppy'. Minor puncture resistance is good though once punctured it reacts like any other film. It can also be tissue and doped or painted though you need to tape sheets down to a board and give em a wipe over with 800grit. *FF glider guys use it at about 10 - 15 mic
