  1. Picked up my RCM&E & Model Boats from WHSmiths at Bexhill 😀 great free plans in both mags 👍 Regards Ray
  2. Hi Sam, I'd buy a cheap set to keep flying 😀 Regards Ray
  3. Yes I remember Tim's original MB5 at an early flying show in 1982 at Graveney Kent, run by the Canterbury club, Chris Foss was flying a Dalotel, and me flying my MR Hurricane badly 😲 Looks very Mustang like with that radiator, did it have a contra rotating prop on the full-size ?? Regards Ray
  4. Hi All, I still love the smell it takes me back to the 60's now I'm in my sixties 😀 Regards Ray
  5. Hi Cliff, Where do you fly ?? I'm in Kent 😀 Regards Ray
  6. Hi Cliff, Good work with the York 👍 looking forward to hear how she flys 😎 Regards Ray
  7. Hi Martin Forget the fuselage jig and build it inverted over the drawing, I would cut the cross pieces in pairs first and pin top ones to the drawing and away you go using pin and some weights ?? Regards Ray
  8. My memories are of a model shop in Swanley Kent in the 70's run by Roy Norris he had a BN Islander hanging in the shop which had won 1972 class 2 nats with. Unfortunately short lived as Roy was tragically killed flying a DH Chipmunk 😢 still remember him as a really nice guy... Regards Ray
  9. Hi All, Let's face it we Brits love rules 😀 if we didn't have them what would we have to moan about ?? 😂 Just join the BMFA we all need insurance 😊 oh they have rules !! Regards Ray Edited By Ray Wood 4 on 25/06/2020 14:49:33 Edited By Ray Wood 4 on 25/06/2020 14:50:57
  10. Hi All, The simple answer to the original question is "No" Happy days 😀
  11. By phone ordered, TJD models at Dartford & SLEC, Poundland epoxy & superglue 😄 Regards Ray
  12. Hi All, I flew a 32" span Turbulent designed by Ron Moulton with a . 55 PAW but ailerons & elevator, tissue covered and enamel painted, you don't need to fuel proof the model 😄 still have the u/c, may build another some day. Regards Ray
  13. Hi Rogeo, I would guess you radio is 35mhz which has been superseded now by 2.4mhz and glo motors are not so popular with the advent of electric flying. New equipment is so cheap these days I'd buy new if you can ?? Regards Ray
  14. Hi Steve, Where did you get the drawing from ?? Is Tony selling them ??I Or have I been asleep 😄 Regards Ray
  15. Hi Bob Thanks for the link 😄 you maybe need to check the exact spelling of you post 😯 Regards Ray
  16. OMG, balsa cement of is the corner stone of aeromodelling, how could we live/build without it 😄👍😎 Regards Ray
  17. Hi Jason, I haven't seen fish glue in Poundland ! But will have a look for it 😄 Granted I've only been building for 50 years but never had either the expensive or the cheap stuff fail. Regards Ray
  18. Hi Micheal, I'd go with Doc's suggestions on Gorilla products + Balsa Cement for joining sheets. Plus I find the Poundland cyano, and epoxy great value 👍✔, In my experience because it costs an arm & leg doesn't make it any better ! Regards Ray Edited By Ray Wood 4 on 27/05/2020 07:06:32 Edited By Ray Wood 4 on 27/05/2020 07:07:09
  19. Hi Gary, Wow they are heavy duty drills !! I use sharpened brass tubes which were commercially available but easy to make 😄 Regards Ray
  20. Hi All , That's good advice from Danny, I have studied Brian's designs for the last 40 years since my first build of his Mk 9 which with his first Hurricane were pre retract days with fixed under carts, the first designs all featured the 1/4" square framework with the formers fixed on the outside, he then progressed the the later 8 3" Spit which has sheet sides, one for the future I have all the bits 😄👍 enjoy your P47 build ! !I Take weight out where you can, they do end up heavy if your not careful. Regards Ray
  21. Hi Guys, The BT Vultee Valiant plan shows the same solid construction 2 x 1/2" lamination thought it's one of his earlier design ? I have gone built up route to save some lead up front 😄👍 regards Ray
  22. Hi All, Bought my copy from W H Smith's in Maidstone the other day 😄 open because there is a post office inside ✔ Regards Ray
  23. Hi I missed this, but when I built the slightly larger version than Vic's original tissue or film would be fine 😄👍 Regards Ray
  24. Hi Gary, Go for it 😄 I'm building 2 BT models but more for the enjoyment rather slowly, if and when they get finished it will be a bonus ✔✈ Regards Ray
