  1. Will be commencing build 1st Feb...…… build blog will be re-activated then. How I hate January (due to day job!). But it will pay for my hobby, so suppose I got to grin and bear it! Cheers Ade
  2. Posted by McG 6969 on 30/12/2019 17:55:55: ... "building properly in February", Ade? I do realize it's not a F1 GP, but my best guess is you will be painting the 'conservatory' in Gold again... Cheers Chris Busy couple of weeks ahead Chris, so I thought I can sort out the 3d printed air brakes, so that when I'm building they should just slot in. I've also 'negotiated a two week period in Feb that I need to be home from work...…….' Building will commence at a rapid rate then, helped I must say, by the efforts of the lads. Will be making a 'special' canopy plug in the next few weeks, in between work. Cheers Ade
  3. Finally commenced building with the air brakes! First attempt at 3d printing, and another 3 to make. I'll be facing off the 3d print with balsa to conform to the fuselage profile. Hopefully show the hinging geometry shortly (once I've worked it out). Will be building properly in February. Cheers Ade

I'm about to settle down to fried octupii and chips.,............ ... I thought 'Calamari Fritti' would be a bit more classy for those poor overworked little animals... Cheers Chris I don't think they deserved fancy food Chris lol. Anyway, one to go. May chose a squid instead.......... Cheers Ade
  7. Well done lads.................. I'm about to settle down to fried octupii and chips.,............ cheers Ade
  8. Posted by Martin Gay on 14/11/2019 16:24:23: That's not good Ade, you have more than one, and less than three models worth of balsa to assemble into ... something or other! I'll probably end up with the 'other'........... Cheers Ade
  9. Hi David, Did an order with Slec…….(for more than one but less than three), and was shade short or £90......including £10 post etc. Have you doubled up there somewhere? Cheers Ade
  10. Hi Danny, Any chance doing a few post about the RDS adaptors; I'm sure this would be useful. Especially as quite a few of the lads have access to 3D printers. Cheers Ade
  11. Don't worry about the time, there are many Sabre's that have not hit the bench yet! Let the others make the mistakes, then take advantage And if you like a colour scheme, then go with it. It's your model after all. Cheers Ade
  12. Impressive Chris, very useful info. I was thinking of using ammonia when planking to ease the stresses. Anyone else used ammonia when planking? Cheers Ade
  13. Posted by McG 6969 on 07/11/2019 22:28:31: ... humm... are those carrots 18 SBA or metric, Ade? Cheers Chris Danver actually Chris; they go well with spuds and gravy! Cheers Ade
  14. Posted by Mark Kettle 1 on 07/11/2019 22:11:28: Maybe Nugget ( I forgot we christened you with that name at one of the meetings ) back to the gold paint heavier thing, you maybe need more thinners around the gold ingot your using? but it's 18 carrot...……..
  15. Posted by Peter Garsden on 07/11/2019 20:53:15: Watching this one Flyer. I was going to have a crack at this version. I went to Halfords and they told me they were out of stock after a bloke in South Wales bought the entire nation's stock? Incidentally just finished the Vulcan book - really enjoyed it and quite emotional too, reads like a thriller. Will let you have it back at the next meeting. No problem Pete, it's a good read for someone who has an interest in Vulcans. Not 100% sure about that gold paint though, seems to weigh heavier than silver...……. Cheers Ade
  16. Posted by Martin Gay on 07/11/2019 20:24:39: Nugget, I hope to send you a drawing this weekend! Martin. cheers chief, doing a crash course in turbocad deluxe at the mo...……. yet another stooped idea to add to the list! cheers Ade( Golden Nugget)
  17. There looks to be a lot of wood in that package; I wonder if there's enough for more than one Sabre? Courier just dropped this off at 4.58pm. Think I may just finish work and get home to clear the building board. Cheers Ade

  19. With all these Sabres........... I think we may need a bigger hill !!! Looking forward to seeing your solutions Danny. Ade
  20. Think the prototype had them exiting the bottom of the wing Phil, no doubt Martin will post a pic when he's around. From memory they are side mounted with a small ply plate covering them. Ade
  21. Well, just ordered my woodpack, as I hope to start this weekend. Been slow out of the blocks as been trying to sort one or two things for the build. Hope to post up a few things in a day or so. And I've ordered more gold paint !! Cheers 'Golden Nugget'........
  22. Posted by Phil Cooke on 28/10/2019 12:53:15: Plenty of impressive schemes to choose from for the Sabre - but who's up for a conversion challenge?? We all love a 2 seater variant - I didn't even know there was a twin stick Sabre but look what I've found over lunch today - only 2 ever made apparently the project being shelved in favour of the twin seat F-100 in the end. There's other mods including a taller fin and longer tail strake to accommodate the extra nose length - who's up for it?? 'More glass, more class!' Shhhhh Phil......... or they'll all want to do that......... There may well be variants already planned..........
  23. Is the droop around 10-15 degrees? .....asking for a friend Ade
