  1. We could also do with one for those of us who used to have to stand in front of four Rolls Royce Merlins and Griffons and jet engines as there were run up without any ear defenders! Ear defenders? What are they!!??
  2. George does reccomend and 11 X 5. for roughly that size of motor
  3. I have to admit that I am pretty clueless when it comes to motors and props. I simply phone George at 4-Max and say "HEEEEELLLLP" Sorry I can't be of much more help.
  4. I used a Speed 600 and 6 cell Nicads so your set up MUST be lighter. The extra power will take it up like a rocket. Too much power is better than too little
  5. I cant find my original EE article. However I did do a mark 2 in "Sailplane and Electric" in the USA an I suggested 3/8" each way. I see that on my Kite Hawk which is a similar size I suggested 1/4" each way on Rudder and Elevators The Easter Eagle is very maneuverable and can be stood on a wing tip and hauled round in tight circles. I see that on my Kitehawk which is a very similar model I quoted 1/4" each way. I assume you do just mean the original Easter Eagle. The Easter Eagle senior is much bigger of course and I can quote fot that if that is in fact the model that you are building
  6. I do hate aluminium undercarriages. They have no backward "give" and so can simply rip off.
  7. Model Fixings. I never waste time going anywhere else. Next day delivery even if you order in the afternoon. Just the VERY BEST!!!
  8. That is great!!! I am so glad that you approve of my drawings. My model was based on one owned by an New Zealand owner living in Taiwan who provided the colour scheme photos. Of course you will base yours on your won full size aircraft. I can say that mine flies like a dream and another club member built one and loves it. Had I seen your colour scheme I would have used that instead.
  9. Many, many years ago. when I was doing a bit of casual work for the motor cycle dealer he has a problem with a mini reel to reel tape recorder and asked if I could sort it out. I actually found that the tape was running back to front across the heads. He thought that I was brilliant???!!! A couple of weeks later he brought me his portable radio which had fallen off his boat into the harbour. Could I fix that after a week in salt water.. I took the back off. The printed circuit board no longer existed. NO I couldn't fix that!!!!
  10. Ours is the same,a "quiet road" we do have a couple of bad potholes. I think someone hit the one outside my house twenty minutes ago. Luckily I have a very small car so can get past it so far!!! When we first moved here back in 1963 the road was totally a shamble.Everyone complained about it but the council did. nothing. Coming home late shift I hammered a sign in at the end of teh road. It saaid "Vimy Ridge. Beware mud and shell holes." I tipped of the local press who published a photo. Withing two weeks the council had the road resurfaced. The secret is to extract the Urine from the council
  11. I live in a country lane which is an extremely popular popular walk for the village with dog walkers and mothers pushing prams going past all the time. The view across the country is beautiful. Most of them, especially the mothers go past ignoring the countryside and their babies with their eyes glued to their *&^%£ phones. OH Yes. The lane has deep ditches on each side....I live in hopes!!!!!
  12. Looking at the pictures. Trying to get double curvature on the tip sheet would be almost impossible. The extension of the sheet spar is a straight taper as shown. Re shape the tip rib to suit. I do not have the magazine plan at the moment but I have attached my original drawing which I think may be different and is how I actually built the tips. Hope this helps Ballerina 2.pdf

  14. The thought of Erfolg on the BMFA committee fills me with terror.
  15. Have you seen the videos on the news of shoplifters helping themselves to arm fulls of goods right in front of the cameras? The other snag with Cabinets is the vast range of similar items such as hinges and everyone has their own favourite type of hinge. I have very recently been searching for my own preferred type of hinge. Eventually located a supply but would a cabinet stock the type that I use?
  16. I eventually worked that out. I seem to remember the Cornard upper School playing ields and a gutter that the far end. This thread is for the funnies. I will PM you shortly.
  17. And of course that is the main cause of global Warming. Back in 1975 the world population was about 3.5 billion people. Today it is over 8 billion and an awful lot of them insist of flying off on their holidays on aircraft that burn 700 gallons per hour per engine.🤣
  18. That is simple. They are protected from every possible infection so they do not build up any sort of immune system I could tell you tales of life in a small Argentinian village up in the mountains that would curdle the blood in the veins of the average modern housewife or doctor. Never hurt me!!!
