  1. If I could just chip in (again) now is the time to support our model trade, places like Webbo's, Leeds, Addlestone models etc are vital to our hobby imho. I've used all three of the above and have never received anything but first class service....
  2. As far as I'm aware most golf courses are closed, my son is a greenkeeper and he's got the next 3 weeks off, just the head greeny going in every other day to cut the greens, fairways etc are fine just left.
  3. Well said Robin, now more than ever it's important we support our model shops. Addlestone models are still taking orders btw...
  4. Posted by Engine Doctor on 24/03/2020 17:11:51: Why are even having this conversation? and why are some confused ? Essential travel only for needed shopping or medical supplies . Limited exercise alone or with your household members.Only go to work if its an essential job. Simples Very easy set of rules to understand really . Why even ask if its ok to go flying? The fool that does will be the first to moan about getting fined and causing our stre-e-e-etched emergency services even more grief Exactly ED jolly well said....
  5. Personally I use gorilla glue ( not the expanding stuff!!) or good old "resin w" by evostick, 3.5lb sounds bang on to me oh and I always keep my rubber bands in a tin with talc somewhere cool, rubber hates heat and light. one final point 4 bands will be fine, it's not a aerobatic job after all.
  6. Jon, any chance of picture of that 70 crank minus it's bearings? Edited By Steve Hargreaves - Moderator on 20/03/2020 19:46:09
  7. I tend to agree Martin, when a engine is running the prop is pulling forward taking the thrust loads off the front bearing (it's pulling) your right in thinking it's the rear bearing (providing the crank web is behind it) that takes the thrust. I believe front bearing failures are caused by gyroscopic forces, out of balance props , prop strikes and of course the over enthusiastic use of electric starters. 8. Posted by kevin b on 19/03/2020 19:24:03: Just think chaps. By the time this is all over, those of you with significant other halves will have amassed shed loads of brownie points. Having done all the jobs that you promised to do, but never had the time. Plus, by that time said other half will be so fed up of you "being under her/his feet" (got to keep it politically correct) that you will be positively pushed out of the door towards the flying field. The downside is that every parcel arriving will be scrutinised, so sneaking anything in will be more difficult. That and the fact that you will actually had to do all those jobs. I made a start today, fixed the bath panel AND changed the gubbins in the toilet , been slow to flush for months and I've been putting it off.... I do have a parcel on the way that could cause the raised eyebrows from the Oberstleutnant...
  9. Posted by Ton van Munsteren on 16/03/2020 22:24:16: Looks like there are lately not many models being build form the RCME free plans. Well here's mine! Vic smeed Gamine
  10. Apologies Graham, got my conversations mixed up, covering still looks good!
  11. Martin, your obviously a practical man, that looks perfect!
  12. Where abouts are you Hillclimber? sounds like you could do with a fresh pair of eyes to give it the once over.
  13. Just read posts 6/7 and I'm still confused, may I just point out I am no way questioning you're integrity Jon.
  14. Hang on a minute Jon, on page one of this thread someone asked a question about the engine, roller bearings etc and you said you had no details....now your claiming you designed and developed every part???? Have I missed some thing??
  15. Just had to check my model with the 410 in, rudder on the right stick is position 2 on the rx. Does sound like a duff servo, take it apart and have a look, I recently had a duff one, turned out to be a poor solder connection internally and being a tight bugger ( another word for perpetually skint!) I repaired it...
  16. I know for a fact the rx is both DSM2/DSMX compatible, I have the same rx in a model at the moment ( AR410) sounds like a wiring issue to me, not that I'm any sort of electronic expert...
  17. My thoughts exactly Jon, my local has also sold out of dry pasta, some people must have very bland diets.
  18. Peter, with all due respect your "designs" do tend to all be variations on a theme. How many mid wing monoplanes with a Set back cockpit does the modelling world need? No offence etc......
  19. Lovely neat work! Don't worry about the way it sits, as mentioned she'll lift her tail.in about 10 feet and fly off. Your best to cover everything separately, Less chance of warps creeping in, I know your going electric but that really does need a noisy smelly diesel up front but that's just me please ignore!!
  20. Surprised there's not been more comments? A superb pieces of aeromodelling! good luck with the first flight, I'm sure she will fly lovely..
  21. Graham, love the finished spending comment.....fat chance!! However if you want to 'save' a few pounds I get on perfectly well with a cheap travel iron for covering.
