  2. A friend of mine just fixed this problem on a OS by tapping a slightly coarser thread in the head (it was not too badly damaged) and making an adapter to go between the head and the exhaust pipe. The original pipe was silver soldered into the adapter. I can find out exactly what thread he used if you are interested?
  3. Power up the motor and measure the voltage and RPM. Them divide the RPM by the voltage and this will give you the RPM per volt (KV). Well it will give you a reasonable approximation.
  4. I have a GWS A10 that flys well. It has been well crashed but alway goes back together and flys again.
  5. That's a good suggestion from Marc. I have used this to replace a 350 size motor in the past.
  6. This thread has some good suggestions.
  7. Welcome Bob I look forward to meeting you sometime and to reading your build blogs. Enjoy the friendly forum.
  8. I have engineering in my bones but only studied it to first year degree then swapped to Computer Science. Now I am a odd job/builder, fencer, plumber, knife and tool sharpener, professional parent.
  9. Can you add a picture or link so we can see what you are talking about?
  10. I use whatever length makes refueling easy for a given model and a fueling nipple or a fuel filter on the end of the pipe from the pump. You can see some examples on the web page I linked to above.
  11. 3S is just a short hand for 3S1P so they are exactly the same thing. It is a bit strange to say 1P because how can one cell be in parallel with itself thats why most people just say 3S.
  12. I have used these (look at about 8 items down Fuel Bung). One end goes in your filler tube and the other goes over one of the other pipes and keeps the end of the filler tube in place while not in use. By the way welcome to the friendly forum.
  13. And a big welcome from me too. If you can do your A in 5 weeks than you are on you way to being a really good pilot.
  14. Maurice, it would be more helpful if you could say what material you are trying to attach it to. It's hard to give an answer to such an open ended question.Edited By Bruce Richards - Moderator on 27/07/2010 18:44:32
  15. I think Prosynth is made/sold by Weston UK and the will support their engines more or less forever if they are run exclusively on their fuel. They do not seem to specify whats in it.Edited By Bruce Richards - Moderator on 24/07/2010 15:38:35
  16. Welcome Augusto, hope you enjoy the friendly forum.
  17. Still very tempted by the 155" but only when I have the 2X flying
  18. Finally got all the wood I need and the 2X plan so all I need to do is extend the building board and tidy up the garage so that I have somewhere to work. So that will be another 2-3 weeks then
  19. I Have a TT42 in a fun fly model and have to say that it has been good. I have had it from new, it has not had a huge amount of running but it has never missed a beat.
  20. Sparks, I must say your building is very neat. I hope mine turns out half as good as yours looks.
  21. Yes I fly my blade MSR on a DX6 with no special setup.
  22. Balsa Cabin not open today they have all gone to Cosford. Wast of a 50 mile round trip.
  23. I quite like the look of the large amount of dihedral so I will stick with my 7" each side. Thanks for the update.
