Fabulous work, bit of an understatement to say that I am impressed. -
Seems much better this morning....

Better again at moment after being dreadful since 6:30 this morning.

Same here too. On EE is often poor compared to other websites, but from about 10 pm yesterday has been dire.

No problem. Used machines can certainly be a mixed bag! When they are working well they can feel like a joy, but when you are sidelined repairing them or having to make unobtainable parts for them then they can feel more like a curse. For what it's worth I have found Arc Euro Trade very good for a balance of price versus quality. Also very good when things go wrong or there are any issues. I do think that their machines show signs of better quality control than some, and they seem to have more input to the factories. Have only bought tooling and the like from them, but have looked closely at their machines in the past. Also very helpful on the phone.

Hi Jon, This may or may not be of interest but there is a very nice Emco FB2 mill for sale at Pennyfarthing Tools. Website pennyfarthingtools.co.uk. Price £1400 with tooling. I have previously found the company excellent to deal with, and incredibly helpful. They also have a couple of very nice Swiss mills too at higher prices... Laurie.

Hi John, That's interesting and presumably explains the large camera-like equipment mounted on the side of the undercarriage. They have been here for about half an hour now and seem to be revisiting certain places for a longer spell after their original tracking around.

Hi John, Well that is strange, but good that it lasted through the storm and the days after. We now have a bright yellow helicopter emblazoned with "electricity" flying around checking the routes of the powerlines. It has twice come very close to hover and look at the pole mounted transformer in the garden. That was quite loud... Regards, Laurence.

As a long time lurker my first post is to celebrate the fact that as of 4:45 this morning part of the West Wales village we live in now has power again. First time for mobile phone signal too. Also the return of our BT "landline" that relies on the Internet.... So a happy return to light, heat, and the ability to get information about what's going on. Apparently the power is potentially only temporary but it's here! JD8- glad to see that your damage wasn't too bad given the sight of that snapped pole. Now makes me see how lucky we were that the similar one with a transformer in our garden didn't go the same way. We had a lot of fencing absolutely destroyed. Some roads here still blocked by fallen trees.

Thank you for taking the trouble to put all of this info together, it is much appreciated. As would be the nickel plating story. I'm really impressed with your results from the processes. Laurie.

Try Arc Euro Trade they do metric blocks for a reasonable (always subjective) price. Dasqua do fair priced imperial ones. Hope that helps, Laurie.
