  1. I do think the advice given by Chris ( first answer) should be looked at. These models look beautiful and by all means buy one if you can afford it, but as another forumite said, “ both water based like swimming and fishing” You know your own capabilities, so go for it if you think it’s the right thing to do. Best of luck.
  2. Great video to watch plus the build. You are what we can call a true modeller. Rectifying problems as they arise, well done.
  3. It looks like a flier Neddy, nice build too. I seem to like the look of models with large wing spans lol. Cheers Have a good maiden.
  4. Hi all, have a foam board project soon for my grandson. Not sure what model yet, just wondered where can I source foam board, can it be sent by post / courier as there is no such shops around me. Thanks
  5. Thanks lads for the info, nice illustration John, got it.
  6. Thanks for interesting information. I useDeans connectors, that’s the reason for former question. Thank you.
  7. How ieasy to solder leads to bulb connections may I ask ? Cheers
  8. Leccy flier. What connectors do you use on your Lipos please ?
  9. Nice, apparently foam board is far cheaper than Depron too. Where is it available from please ? Thanks. Does foam board come with paper on it as well. Cheers

    Winglets

over the years I have seen many models with small vertical winglets at the end of each wing tip. Do these add to flying qualities or just look cool ? Thank you.
  11. Built this Pushycat yonks ago. Only needs a prop and some courage to hand launch it lol. Cheers
  12. Nice bit of flying , the landing was superb like a butterfly with bad feet, A good one. Thanks
  13. Thanks all for your valuable information. It’s a bit of a learning curve for me but I’m on the way due to my forum friends. Cheere
  14. As an electric newbie I have tried to read as much asI can before asking silly questions. As a ic nut of over 50 years of flying, I could eye up a model, put a 40,60 or 90 motor plus right size prop and away to go. Not so with electrics lol. Ok, for a start I use the80-100w /lb for motor. I would like to use a 3s battery and appropriate sized esc. What I need now is a KV NUMBER TO FLY SPORT PLANES. Would this be low around 950 1500 kv. I would then try a selection of props and a watt meter. THANK YOU.
  15. Will do when I can John. Cheers
  16. Thanks Geoff, not concerned with power change, more concerned with using wings not designed for the plane, and finding correct CoG. Thank you.
  17. Just remembered, one model was called Josephine (Traplet) the other is a Tigermoth Cheers
  18. Hi all. Years ago a I demolished the fus of a 40size bi plane. Wings survived. I have just discovered the fus of a very similar sized bi plane in loft and the old wings are a perfect fit. Thinking oh changing model to elect, but wondered if it will fly after all the work. If it does fly I can assume the characteristics would be different, but hoping I can cope with it. Thanks
  19. Thanks EB, sorted on my trusty old iPad. Copied pasted and saved. i do not know if others have built and flown this model, but as a newbie to building in foam and changing to electrics I found it an exellent project indeed, especially the flying.
  20. Can this be done on my iPad ? If not will do it on my laptop. Cheers
  21. Is there any way to save these videos for future reference ? Thank you
  22. Got It. Cheers EB, always wondered have to find this old info and videos .
  23. Must be an age thing again but it seems I cannot get the thread about Toms twin boom. Found it once but lost it. lol. Any help out there .? Thank you
