I do think the advice given by Chris ( first answer) should be looked at. These models look beautiful and by all means buy one if you can afford it, but as another forumite said, “ both water based like swimming and fishing” You know your own capabilities, so go for it if you think it’s the right thing to do. Best of luck.

It looks like a flier Neddy, nice build too. I seem to like the look of models with large wing spans lol. Cheers Have a good maiden. -

Nice, apparently foam board is far cheaper than Depron too. Where is it available from please ? Thanks. Does foam board come with paper on it as well. Cheers -
over the years I have seen many models with small vertical winglets at the end of each wing tip. Do these add to flying qualities or just look cool ? Thank you.

As an electric newbie I have tried to read as much asI can before asking silly questions. As a ic nut of over 50 years of flying, I could eye up a model, put a 40,60 or 90 motor plus right size prop and away to go. Not so with electrics lol. Ok, for a start I use the80-100w /lb for motor. I would like to use a 3s battery and appropriate sized esc. What I need now is a KV NUMBER TO FLY SPORT PLANES. Would this be low around 950 1500 kv. I would then try a selection of props and a watt meter. THANK YOU.

Will do when I can John. Cheers

Thanks Geoff, not concerned with power change, more concerned with using wings not designed for the plane, and finding correct CoG. Thank you.

Just remembered, one model was called Josephine (Traplet) the other is a Tigermoth Cheers

Hi all. Years ago a I demolished the fus of a 40size bi plane. Wings survived. I have just discovered the fus of a very similar sized bi plane in loft and the old wings are a perfect fit. Thinking oh changing model to elect, but wondered if it will fly after all the work. If it does fly I can assume the characteristics would be different, but hoping I can cope with it. Thanks

Thanks EB, sorted on my trusty old iPad. Copied pasted and saved. i do not know if others have built and flown this model, but as a newbie to building in foam and changing to electrics I found it an exellent project indeed, especially the flying.

Can this be done on my iPad ? If not will do it on my laptop. Cheers
