  1. Brian do you find that finishing mix with poly c and acrylic is glow fuel proof. having used ploy c in the past. I find it not totally fuel proof to glow? tip: if you can't get non shrinking dope, a few drops of banana oil to normal dope prevents it shrinking, have used this method in the past (LA7)and it works a treat. my preferred method for finishing. am going too try dulux touch up pots on the 110 as per Richards technique.
  2. Graham, although I haven't started mine yet, like you finishing another project, I've been trying to figure out / thinking about the same rear end linkage set up.I have been looking at other plans with the same set up to see how they tackled it.so your not on your own. Certainly wouldn't put a servo down the back end as you would need a lot of weight up front to counteract this. Cheers Graham

  4. DD going to do the desert colour scheme on mine, only I have the G version, larger cowls different spinners. As suggested by Richard. Are you planning on adding the bombs, centre line and wing mounted? And mine will be i/c . Cheers Graham.

  7. Jrman were all well couple of dozen of us on the 110 thread. Then having spoken to Richard I think the hurricane is next in line or could be a macci? Still both big enough for a laser 70/80. Cheers Graham

  10. Hi Pete No, website still the same.and your quite right, the only ref to the 110 is some accessories that Richard has put on there, as in the retracts and decal sets. Wrt the ju88 I think there was a link to some club doing a build? But yes the models are not on there as in kits section. Cheers Graham
  11. Ok time to come out the woodwork so to speak, have been reading / watching various posts with interest. Yes I've order a 110 from Richard, and mines going to be I/C with a pair of RCV 58 CDs as I personally think the laser 70s will be to big , and definitely way overpowered even using 3 bladers. The plan is to do mine as a 110E with Iraqi markings, sharks teeth and yellow nacelles, plus all the optional extras. So there you have it ,probably take me a while as I'm a slow builder. Just waiting now for Richard to contact me. Cheers Graham.Edited By gillyg1 on 03/03/2017 12:15:18
  12. Yes Graham I agree with you there, perhaps somebody could point out the differences to clarify what's what ??
  13. i thought we we're waiting for Richard to say when things were ready, along with what options and accessories are available??
  14. thanks Jon for the words of advice, will try and remember when the time comes. mean while it's filled along with other important stuff, "in a safe place" if you know what I mean. Cheers Graham
  15. Hi John ref I/C I have a pair of RCV 58 CD s that I'm intending to use, one is brand new, been sat in the draw for a good 10yrs, awaiting another project , which will never get built, the other I've acquired from the classifieds, not much use ? although seller said its had a new bearing, any advice/ tips would be much appreciated, as this will be my first twin, will I need a tacho ? I've plenty of experience with I/c as that's all I fly, and been at it for 40yrs thereabouts, but never started a RCV, they sound different supposedly, Cheers in advance Graham.
  16. Paul your a lucky man to be able to visit " the man" could you elaborate on your/ Richards panel lining technique, please. As it looks very authentic. Thankyou in advance Graham.
  17. Richard, for me, I'm down for the 110,which will probably take me a year to build ?? (hope not) after that it'll be what ever is available in your range of kits with specific interest in spitfire, hurricane, mustang, or hopefully a tempest or typhoon, as you know I already have the smaller LA7. So no rush for me. Cheers Graham , keep up the good work, and don't give up on us "balsa bashers".
  18. Would it be possible do you think for the mag to do a review of "Warbird Replicas" new Bf 110 which Richard is due to release in February sometime, Doubt very much wether you'd get a freebie, but it would make a dam good series of build articles, maybe over 3or 4 issues, its going to be a simple build with foam wings turtle decks etc. For electric or I/c, and the philosophy is, its a simple quick build kit for a twin. would make a change from the artf/ foamy reviews, possible helping to take the myth out of kit building. What do you think guys ??? Yes I've got my name on one, for 2x 52 four strokes, and no I don't want to do the build log,as I take too long in building. Edited By gillyg1 on 20/01/2017 20:24:00
  19. Jon like your hurricane take it ,it is one of Richards ? yes I would like one of them and did ask him when they were going to be available again ? fingers crossed , with a laser 80 of course, however got my name down for a 110 with x2 52 four strokes. Would be nice if in the future we could decide / ask Richard to kit so & so for us, fingers crossed.
  20. Exactly my thoughts as well Peter. Facebook is full of people asking :- what engine do I use in this? propeller size, how do I do this.? anybody any idea how to.......... and so it goes on, if you read the instructions, or Google it , there's your answer 9 times out of 10. is it because we need to ask other people - so if it goes wrong we can blame him ??? after all we live in a blame/claim society, people just don't use there brain anymore ( slide rule / log tables ) easier to ask instead of trying to work it out for your self , which by the way is more gratifying. and before anybody has a go , I'm no genius, know it all, I just try and work it out for my self, or refer to the plan.
  21. Try suggesting it to Richard at "Warbird Replicas" for his opinion ??
  22. Having read all this thread and spoken to Richard this afternoon, Richard needs at least 30 to confirm/ agree on what we want, that's the minimum before any cutting begins, was the same with the single engine debate, we couldn't agree so no go. As mentioned else where, think the mags are full of model reviews, artf write ups, where's the traditional build reviews???, I've still got the build articles for the BT Kingfisher which was spread over x3 mags. Yes the mags should get behind traditional building, you never know sales might even go up, if they did a spitfire Mk 9 review, of around 60fs size, from a British kit producer. I know there's loads of build threads on here, but not like having the said article in the shed with you to refer to, my Wi-Fi wont reach to the workshop down the garden. Enough said, out of 20,000 hits you think at least 30 would agree to buy one. I for one don't want to see Richards business go down the pan, or diversify to something else
  23. good old spectrum again, never used it never will, after my mate lost 3x aircraft with the then new 6i, he has now changed to graupner. And to hear the new 6 has problems, thank goodness for futaba. funny how there's always a lot of specky radio's for sale second hand, can't tell me there all upgrading, selling it for a deceased friend, giving up etc etc.
  24. OK Guys this is how it is :- Here we have a manufacturer who is willing to produce a kit at our request as long as we all vote the same, so no way out thoughts please. This is a golden opportunity for all us small scale builders. So if you want something SAY SO. This thread has had so many hits, and only a handful of people have voiced there opinions, so stop sitting on the fence and say what you want ... Otherwise we will all eventually be building from plans with no laser cut parts/kits available. Its up too us to keep this industry alive, as proper model builders not your artf rubbish that were only half satisfied with, that doesn't last, can't take the knocks, have too replace the hardware on fitting out, need I go on. "You know you want it !!!!"
