Marc Humphries
Eric - at around 2:10 it is slope soaring - the prop has stopped.
sparks59
Nice video, great song...the prop wasn't running all of the time though ...can't really see the point of driving in circles around a field, but I guess it adds a bit of something different. A little too much down on the elevons whilst 2 metres in front of the car would have ended in a bag of trash though.... sparks
Martin Harris - Moderator
We tried the same in the 70s soaring my Graupner Amigo on a Capri bonnet, but not as successfully. There again, we didn't have electric assist for repositioning...
Andy Harris
Looks like proper fun. Perhaps we ought have a category for competitions: F1ZW
Ernie
Tried something like that years ago with a 40 powered sport job. Couldn't keep up on the downwind leg (and we were shifting) ernie

Edited By Martin Harris on 21/09/2010 20:05:50 Yeah, I think he joined in the fun with his Land Rover "thingy". The only problem was he didn't have a sunroof so we had to sit on the spare wheel which was mounted on the bonnet, and it tended to upset the airflow somewhat for windscreen soaring. Strewth, we did some daft things. B.C.

Martin Harris - Moderator
Nothing - we just keep quiet for a couple of decades in case the dust hasn't settled!

Slopetrashuk
Done a bit of that with Alula's and parked cars faced into the wind. No leccy motors to bail out there though. Not really sloping on the vid most of the time except when he is really close to the car windscreen and almost hitting the camera. Fun vid though.
