Phil May
Perfect conditions tomorrow, 15 -30mph SW and its my day off ,similar for Thursday. Lets hope I get at least one good day on the slope. Here's a question for you guys, How many of you go sloping by your self? Most off the slopes I fly off are a bit of a trek from the road and Mrs B.P is not keen on me being on a slope by myself in case I have a fall or something. I see her point and was wondering what is the general opinion of fellow slopers . Phil Edited By Big Phil on 04/10/2011 08:32:

Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Sorry to butt in but I just wanted to ask all you slopey guys about the Limit EX model....I spotted another thread on it somewhere & it reminded me that I had a semi kit hidden away under the bench (from Fellside Precision Cutting before he closed his doors).... Any views on this model? Suitable for a newbie to sloping do you think??

Devon Flyer
Cracking afternoon's sloping at Holdstone Down.Blowing 18 mph NW and lift was superb. My flying buddy had his first real slope session with his WT and enjoyed every minute. Another one hooked!78 year old slope virgin with 2 tin knees.....anyone beat that?Mind you, I was kind to him as it's only a 150yd level walk from the car park to the slope. Looking along Holdstone Down - slope site in the near distance. Edited By Devon Flyer on 07/10/2011 17:16:

Phil May
I just picked up one of those Futaba copy rx's for a tenner off one of my flying mates. It's been in his foamie Edge so I know its sound. Now what shall I put it in I know a nice Alula or Weasel. I'll have to do a bit of research to decide which is for me. Phil P.S Don't tell the wife
Phil May
Spent the day flying off Mickeys at the Bwlch with Steve H. and a few other guys, wind varied from single figure to 18mph ish. I struggled at the lower wind speed with the W.T so my mind is made up, I'm definitely going to buy an Alula...........I think...........or a Weasel?????????? Steve had a nice couple of flights with his Banana until his final landing of the day when he suddenly called that he had lost all control. He was on the finals preparing to land when the model veered towards the pits, it hit nose first at a fair rate and cart wheeled over a nice expensive mouldie (no contact fortunately The fuse' of the Banana took full force of the impact and cracked. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. No doubt Steve will follow on with this soon Phil Edited By Big Phil on 16/10/2011 19:05:
Tim Mackey
The only thing I would add, having had both, is that the Alula is pretty restricted in wind conditions. Its a great little ( fragile ) thing for really light sniffs, but the stronger weasel will fly in much blowier stuff....yet is also great in low 3- 5mph winds too. I guess you need to decide what conditions are prevalent in your areas - I love the weasel, but soon got bored with the Alula... your call of course. Get em both ?? Sorry to hear about Steves banana
Steve Houghton 1
All I have to say about the crash is ..... And that I'm not going to use Orange receivers in anything other than foamies, however, this was my 1st incident with this type of rx after dozens of flying hours using several of these.
