Tony Read
I have the excellent series of model aircraft 'how to' videos presented by Ian Peacock dating back to 1990. I have no video player so was looking to get them transferred to DVD so I can watch them again. As I remember they were very informative. There are two problems. One is that any transfer business will naturally want agreement from the copy right holder. The other is that the company (TS Video Productions) no longer seems to be around so there is no one to get agreement from. Any ideas? ken anderson.
hello tony-to be honest-----if it's for your own use- i cant see any copyright problem.... even more so if the original company is no longer around......years ago in a galaxy far away...when coping started your were allowed to copy your cassette's as long it was for your own use.......now i think the wording is different ... but as long as its a back up for your own use....no problem....unless someone knows different.... ken anderson ne...1 .....knows different dept... Ian Jones
Tony, You could try Spa Sounds . They do classical recordings and also media conversions. It's actually my brother & his wife so you will a personal response. I don't know how much charges.
Plummet
Well I know that some photocopying companies refuse to copy copyright documents even if for your own use - for example, model plans. I like to build over a copy so as to keep the master plan pristine. Other companies are happy to take my money. Shop around.Plummetp.s. What is Myhobbystore's attitude to this, I wonder? Peter Miller
Video recorders are dirt cheap these days, would be worth buying one. There is a local photo shop that does conversions, cost each is about £25. I may try and do my own copy as I still have a video recorder. Maybe when there is nothing to watch on TV...like..over Christmas
GONZO
Google ' ion video 2 pc' and you'll come up with a device to convert any analogue video to digital onto your PC or DVD disc. You will need to have a video player though. Can you not borrow one for this?

Tony Read
Thanks Eric! I'm a ARTF guy at heart but I really fancy at building something of my own. As I recall these vids are excellent. Ian should get them re-released if possible, with an extra one for leci and ARTF.
Tony Read
I junked my VCR when the heads went, so I would use the sevices of someone else to do the transfer. There seems to be quite a few companies in this field of business. Just need to resolve the copy right issue (if there is one).
Steve W-O
I have tried several ways, from £5 USB capture devices, to the device I have now, it looks like a VHS machine and has a USB output for the video file, that can either be stored on the hard drive, or the software has an option to make a DVD automatically. Very easy and hassle free, only thing is as with all methods, you need to be there watching it.
Geoff Gardiner
Hi Tony. I have little business on the side doing just this. www.film-to-dvd.co.uk Would be happy to give you a 25% discount for a fellow modeler, if you are interested.
