Changing Date and Time stamp on 808 keyring camera

Just bought one of those cheap (£11.50 inc 4Gb card and P&P) '808' Keyring cameras.
They all seem to be supplied with the date and time incorrectly set.
Here is a step by step guide on how to change the settings. Apparently this will work with several different types of video cams that have a permanent date/ time display.

1. Connect camera to USB port on PC.
2. Click on 'Start' and go to 'Computer'
3. Left click and open up whichever drive the camera appears on; will appear as something like 'Removable Disk (H)' - but letter will vary depending on which port you have used.
4. You will see a file called 'DCIM'
5. Right click below this file - this will open up a window.
6. Go to 'New' and then 'Text Document' - this will create a new file below the DCIM file.
7. Rename this new file by typing in the following: TAG (it is important to use capital letters for this.)
8. Left click on the TAG file and open it up.
9 Type in the following in exactly this format:

[date]
2011/24/12
15:50:00

Obviously changing the date and time to the required settings.

10. Close the TAG document.
11. Right click on TAG document - copy and paste it into the DCIM file.
12. Disconnect camera from PC.
12. Job done!

There are about 14 different models of the '808' style camera, not all made by the same people.
Apparently the best one to get is the #11 one which is HD and 720p. These cost about £25 +P&P from China. The cheap ones, like mine are 480p and have a smaller frame size and lower quality definition, but still adequate for what I want.
THIS site gives you all the details you are ever going to need on these devices.

There is an easier way. Have a look at the section, 'How to Set the Date Time' which you'll find (on a blue field) towards the end of this page.

Download the 808SetClock program from the link provided and install it. Any time you need to set the clock just connect the camera to the computer and run the program.

Certainly works fine on the #3 808 which I have but not sure about others.
