David Gilder
CB, I accept NO responisibilty for your obvious inability to resist buying a great model!! Glad you did though!! You wont regret it at all!!
Chris Bott - Moderator
So, just how "stock" is yours Dave? I've gone for the plug and fly version and people keep telling me the motor will blow up, the ESC will burn out and the servo gears will strip if I sneeze while I'm holding the model. Seriously though, there are a few warnings in the review section on the shop website. How have you found everything and have you upgraded anything?
David Gilder
Chris, Mine is exactly stock.. All I did was add 2 servos for the flaps, put a Rx and Battery in and then went flying!! I have had no issues at all with motor, esc, servos or likages. I broke the elevator along the hinge line the other week and the linkage held strong.. I really dont think there are ANY issues to worry about.. (apart from it could do with a little bit of downthrust building into it!! Get it flown stock style!! David Gilder
Much better... Jess just saw dog and swooned!!! She wants to know what breed.. I told her. HobbyKing!!
Terry Walters
I'm sure I didn't get a dog with it. I've recycled the packaging now so it's too late to check now. Terry
Chris Bott - Moderator
Puppy is 8 weeks old, is a Bedlington Terrier (If you google that then no, we won't have her clipped like the pics you find). She's called Bailie (not my choice), and I'm proud to say I resisted for over 4 months of very intense pressure before giving in and having a dog again after two passed away earlier in the year. I could post some very cute pictures, but this is a P2000 thread.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Puppy is very useful for making "pilot holes" in the wing for the control horns to.... eh Chris.... ?
Chris Bott - Moderator
Yes Steve, just a tad more training required to get said holes in the correct position
David Gilder
Thanks Very Much CB!! Now SWMBO wants a Bedlington Terrier (unclipped!) That would mean less for models though!!!
Chris Bott - Moderator
mmm so what you do is say no, for months and months. Then when you begrudgingly say yes, it comes with conditions.. now everyone is happy If the months pass and the deisre goes away, then nothing is lost... Well that's what I tell myself, while I'm rescuing anything valuble from her incessant grasp!
Chris Bott - Moderator
Dave, did you manage to set your brake to on? Did you have any instructions for the ESC? I have my brake set on now, by trial and error. Trouble is, I don't know what else I've set in the process There seems to be three things to set, I think the third one was the brake?
David Gilder
Chris, As mine came fully stock, It was already set up for brake on so I havn't had to do any programming on the ESC. If you do a search online though, I'm sure you will find out how to set everything via the Tx. Chris Bott - Moderator
About time you might say? Finally gave the Phoenix a good thrashing on Sunday morning while Danny F was kindly obliging with the camera. So here's a few of the shots. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Well after much pressure and ribbing from fellow mods in the "back office" I have sucumbed and informed Mrs BEB that one of these would make a very suitable Christmas present. I don't do gliders - this is going to be an "experience"! BEB
Pete B
I was very impressed with Terry W's the other day - that's a lot of model for the dosh and it flew very well indeed. I see Ebaymania is taking off again - this one has reached £45 already - and with £9 postage well over the HK UK price!....... Pete

This model will float about or go like a bat out of hell .Would recommend the airframe option a it's terrific value for money and will save Mrs BEB spending to much on you this year lol. Tom. David Ashby - Moderator
BEBs got a cold at the moment so we think he's OD'd on the cough mixture. Chris, nice shots from Danny there. Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Indeed BEBs fellow mods are in shock at this unlikely turn of events....... We can only assume he has some dastardly plan to fit a 0.15 glow motor up front & maybe shorten the wings or something......
