Chris Bott - Moderator
The latest news from Canada seems to be that an engine problem in No2 delayed yesterday's departure. But the engine was running fine by 1:00AM (their time) and has run again this morning. So takeoff is now imminent.
Chris Bott - Moderator
Live feed of the takeoff on this news channel in about half an hour apparently (15:00) To follow progress, the registration CGVRA will apprently work on **LINK** too. John F
I cannot see the links due to restrictions on the system at work so can't find out any info on this. Why is the Lancaster coming to the UK? Does it have a story?
Chris Bott - Moderator
The Canadian Lancaster is joining the BBMF one for a few weeks, displaying at many of the BBMF airshows alongside.
John F
Now that would be well worth paying to see. It's rare enough seeing one Lancaster in the air but two alongside each other would be akin to finding hens teeth!
Andy Meade
Hi John, Here's an itinerary for you : http://www.warplane.com/lancaster-2014-uk-tour.aspx I'm at Bournemouth airshow to see them, and will also try to get to East Kirby too for all 3 together. Might get a free flyby! Edited By John F on 05/08/2014 15:41:
Cliff Bastow
I am going to Little Gransden show to see them. This will probabally never happen again. Its a Shame that Just Jane from East kirkby is not yet airworthy, that would really be something to see. The Vulcan is also going to be at Gransden as a bonus. Cliff Bastow
HI Colin. Good luck, speaking from experience it is something you will never forget, having been lucky enough to fly in the BBMF one. Perhaps I should enter as there cant be many people who could say they have flown in both the remaining airworthy Lancs? No I will be generous and let someone else win lol

Chris Bott - Moderator
No sign of them on flightradar today but Matt tweeted that they'd taken off OK, along with a pic from the mid upper, looking back at Goose Bay.

Chris Bott - Moderator
Cut and paste from **LINK** Latest update into Keflavik, Iceland is for arrival at approx. 8:15 pm local time (Iceland) - that's 9:15 pm in England and 4:15 pm back at home base in Hamilton. Depending on crew fatigue and weather, we might hop over to Reykjavik Thursday for a short visit (details if happens would be posted tomorrow). Can't wait for Coningsby on Friday!!! John Privett
Hmm... Not sure if that was a missed approach or a low-level pass for the cameras/spectators (I assume both are present) They've just flown down runway 11, turned left and are now lined-up and descending for runway 20. Must have been a deliberate low-pass - theyre much slower this time!
John Privett
Safely down and taxiing now. Can't seem to upload a photo to my album at the moment, or I'd have added a screenshot...
John Privett
Got it! My screen grab was a .png file - always used to be a .jpg! Why can't I upload a .png into my albums? It's a valid image format...
David Gilder
I decided to get a series of screen shots! First pass was clearly an overshoot at 230kt to display the aircraft followed by the left turn to line up on the active for landing! Keep the updates coming guys and girls.
