john stones 1 - Moderator
As it says a farmhouse style table, my son's just bought one, it's bare wood not sure what type. What's the best thing to treat it with to protect from stains and bring out the grain ? apart from varnish. John

jrman
I would recommend "OSMO -Polyx OIL" Two coats with a very light sanding in between coats. Then a light rub down with 000 wire wool and beeswax will give a sheen that's superb. It's proof against pretty well anything a table will have thrown at it. You can also "patch repair" without it showing.

Pete B
Yep, I'd recommend Polyx oil too - used it on my pine flooring 8 years ago and it's looking better than ever... Pete
