Colin Leighfield
Pete, dead right, we're never going to run out of prototypes! One of these is significant though, the "tube plane" is actually the Caproni-Campini ducted fan with after burning, that was claimed by some to be the first jet! It flew all right, but was very slow. Even so, it gained a lot of attention.

The real Ron Truth
What we need is actual model versions of all these. Sod Dawn Patrol , we need the " Experimental Patrol".
mightypeesh
Thanks for that Pete, it made a very enjoyable fifteen minutes. I did like the self-levelling plane - and the pilot climbing out onto the wing to prove it! I am sure I have seen similar things on free flight models in the past, one also had retracts operated by a bit hanging down that operated them when it came in contact with the ground popping the wheels out. That last chap though - has he not heard of power to weight ratio! Cheers, Simon
Peter Miller
We had a control line Sipa Caproni flying barrel in the club a long time ago. Enya 19 powered. Flew very well indeed. but needed every bit of the power. It was designed by a member as his first design project.
