Dom (Essential RC)
First time for FPV Quads at the Nationals. It was great entertainment. Highly skilled pilots getting their fast quads around a tight circuit in ~24 seconds. Crashes and collisions along the way.
Bob Burton
Does anyone know what sort of technology, if any, was used to do the timing for this event ? There appears to be some kind of detection of the quads passing through the finish gate even if it was just a spotter pressing a button, or was it more involved than that ? Wingman
Looks like they are given some sort of transponder from the table at the start which they attach to their quads
Dom (Essential RC)
Yup. Definitley was a transponder. One allocated per pilot.
Linds.W
It seems the same system we use for RC car racing.
