David Ashby - Moderator
I've been playing with the new Futaba FF10 (10c) radio this last week. Prior to launch we'd been told that the R606FS receiver that Futaba included with their 6EXP 2.4 radios last year was discontinued and wouldn't be compatible with the new radio. Well I'm pleased to say that it is. The manual supplied with the radio says 'no' while the Futaba US website says 'yes' and the website is right. This is good news for those who've bought into Futaba 2.4 early and have a few of these receivers can operate them with the new FF10. The 10 is modular and replaces the FF9. A TM-10 plug-in 2.4Ghz module is supplied with the radio. I've got 5 of these receivers so needless to say I'm very pleased!I've fitted an R606 to a model and flown it this week just to make sure..... winchweight
When are Futaba going to release a smaller, sub £40 rx for 2.4ghz though? My son rushed out and bought a Futaba FAAST 6EXA or whatever it's called, and the rx are ludacrisly expensive when compared to Spekky. birdy
Thats what I keep thinking to my self though! Its all very well making a light full range rx, but it means if you want to do something cheap, your abit stuck - You could probably get a shocky flying without the rx and it would be less then £60! Grounded
I'm concerned.. I bought a 6EX combo about 18 mnths ago and recently tried to purchase a R606FS Rx only to find that they are discontinued. Can i use an R608FS 8 channel Rx with my 6 channel Tx???
RonSpencerUK
David I have the same problem. The 617 certainly works and is cheaper than the 608. My long-term solution is to go Spekky from now on.

Chris Channon
Hi all, anyone know why the 606 2.4 rx was dis-continued? Regards as always Chris.
David Ashby - Moderator
No Chris, I did ask Ripmax but never got much other than it was quickly replaced by the R617 (I think). I have 5 x 606's and they all working just fine and with the 10C TX too.

Chris Channon
Hi David, thank you, i was a bit concerned that perhaps there was a fault, range issues, or something. Thanks again Chris.
